Viktor Frydrych (born 21 March 2006) is a British professional tennis player from Wales.[1]
Early life
editFrom Colwyn Bay,[2] he first played tennis near his house in Wales.[3] Then he trained at the Good To Great tennis academy in Stockholm, Sweden, before transferring to train under coach Sam Hutt at Dukes Meadow, London, from the mid point of 2023.[4]
Career
editHe made his debut at a junior grand slam event in boys singles at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships.[5] Although he lost that match to Sebastian Gorzny, he recorded his first junior grand slam the following year when he defeated Charlie Camus of Australia in the first round.[6] In October 2023, he won a junior title in Beijing, China, defeating compatriot Benjamin Gusic Wan in the final.[7]
He reached the final of the boys doubles at the 2024 Australian Open alongside Czech partner Petr Brunclík where they were defeated by American pair Cooper Woestendick and Maxwell Exsted.[8][9]
