History
editOrganic Maps was developed by Alexander Borsuk and Viktor Govako, who previously founded Maps.Me.[3] Maps.Me, originally launched in 2011 as MapsWithMe, became open-source in 2015. In 2021, Borsuk and Govako forked the Maps.Me codebase to create Organic Maps, focusing on privacy and performance improvements. The first public release of Organic Maps was made available in app stores in June 2021.[11]
