Title

edit

Why the hell is this called methoxyephedrine? It's not an ephedrine derivative. Ephedrine derivatives are beta-hydroxy methamphetamines. This is a beta-oxo-methamphetamine, ie: a methcathinone derivative. It's just para-methxoy-methcathinone. Methedrone is possibly the worst term that could ever be applied, people will confuse it with Methadone and mephedrone, two which are already confused with eachother.

Title (cont.)

I suggest this title be changed to methedrone. It is the name being used most frequently by toxicologists, government agencies and contributors on the internet drug forums. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rbaselt (talkcontribs) 21:35, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

not to be confused with....

edit

Hi, I added a 'not to be confused with Mephedrone' as the spelling is so similar and this stuff sounds like the 'plant food' drug. I think it's important that people can access information on that awful bloody stuff and wouldn't want anyone reading the wrong article by mistake. Coolug (talk) 09:13, 8 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

This post is a mess. While I am more than happy that someone has taken the time to summarize the research on the compound, I get the feeling that their native language is not english. I will add citations and more editing at a later date. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RefinedThinking (talkcontribs) 02:46, 12 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

The bromoketone reacts with methylamine directly to methedrone; NOT to the amino alcohol!--FK1954 (talk) 16:47, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
