Owyhee Gold Rush

edit
The discovery of gold and silver in the region in 1863 resulted in a temporary influx of miners and the establishment of mining camps, most of whom have long since disappeared.

Not sure if a specfic gold rush story/article is to be had, but I think I've heard of a "gold rush on the Owyhee", though never aproper-name version as in the section title here; but it maybe is worth investigating? re gold rush cats, history cats etc that would then apply....Skookum1 (talk) 05:27, 3 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Owhyhee River

In an era when spelling was a developing concept, "correct" spellings hardly existed. To denote the above 1825 reference as a misspelling with a "(sic)" is quite arrogant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.121.204.129 (talk) 18:59, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

"Arrogant" seems overly harsh, but I take your point. I changed the "sic" to "his spelling", which is factual without being judgmental. Is that better? Finetooth (talk) 19:34, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
