Move Request
edit- The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the proposal was no consensus. --BDD (talk) 00:00, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
LG Uplus → LG U+ – The company is called "LG U+" not "Lg Uplus". The official logo along with all official literature and third-party articles (i.e. WP:COMMONNAME) referring to the company, reflect this. "LG U+" returns 16,700,000 results on Google while "LG Uplus" returns 678,000 results. Relisted. BDD (talk) 17:44, 7 June 2013 (UTC) 「gu1dry」⊤ • ¢ 03:38, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
- Comment: Per WP:COMMONAME, article titles are normally based on the most common name used by reliable sources, not the official name. The official logo and all official literature and articles that are produced by the company are completely irrelevant. See also Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trademarks, which states that Wikipedia articles should follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules, regardless of the preference of trademark owners. Unless most third-party reliable sources use "U+" instead of "Uplus", the current article title should stand. Zzyzx11 (talk) 04:26, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
- When I said "articles' I was referring to third-party sources. I have update the original request to clarify this. BTW I know how move requests work, this isn't my first rodeo... 「gu1dry」⊤ • ¢ 05:40, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose use LG U-Plus or LG U-plus per MOS:TM (♥ used for "love") ; LG U plus and LG U + should all redirect here. -- 65.94.76.126 (talk) 02:00, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
- Strong support, because "+" is pronounced "plus" and is the most common way of doing so in English. Red Slash 16:44, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose ′Copyright 2012 LG Uplus Corp. All Rights Reserved.′ is written at the bottom on the official website. Korea Exchange uses ′LG Uplus′ KRX: 032640 [1]. So ′LG Uplus′ is the official name and the common name. The official logo expresses LG U+, not LG U+. Should move to LG U+? Sawol (talk) 10:49, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
