Name change
editI read the proposals for a name change here and seeing as there were no objections and a name change was in order I went ahead and moved the page.
A question
editIf this article "chronicles different government responses" to Uber, as was discussed on the talk page for the article about the company, then why is this article entitled "Legal status of Uber's service", which seems to promise to tell the reader whether Uber's services are legal or not, under which laws and so on.
Surely this article should be entitled something more along the lines of "Protests concerning Uber service" or something similar? Invertzoo (talk) 20:12, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
Changing the name of this article
editI feel that for clarity and accuracy, the name of this article needs to be changed to Protests and legal actions against Uber or something very similar, rather than an apparently white-washy title such as the current one, "Legal status of Uber's service" which does not really reflect what the content of the page is about. I am giving people a chance to comment on the move before I implement it. Invertzoo (talk) 20:11, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree - there is scope for a separate article "Legal status of Uber's service by country" which could give a breakdown, but that is not what this article is about Absolutelypuremilk (talk) 18:54, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
Wrong information on the graphic
editThe map in the article shows Uber as "banned" in Colombia. Yet this is not the case. Although Uber has faced a strong opposition, it continues to provide its service normally in the country.
- This does not appear accurate. It looks like Uber is indeed operating without appropriate licenses in Colombia. Can you please provide a reference that these issues have been resolved? The latest news story I could find was from March 2015. --Yamla (talk) 11:55, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Also its says uber is legal in Finland. It is illegal. Source: http://m.iltalehti.fi/uutiset/2015081020156911_uu.shtml — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.245.238.178 (talk) 05:45, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah. At the very least, the graphic is outdated. I have removed it. --Yamla (talk) 11:14, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
There is no ban of uber in delhi now
editThe info graphic showing ban on uber is wrong in many places of world. Please correct it
- It is indeed quite outdated. That said, I can find no evidence that it is legal in Delhi. News articles from earlier this year show that it was still banned. Can you provide a reliable citation indicating that the ban was lifted later in 2015? --Yamla (talk) 12:47, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
Infographic
editThis infographic about Uber's legal issues worldwide was updated in December. Does it make sense to use it here, too? It's available under CC-BY-SA. --88.128.80.123 (talk) 12:03, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
- I'm opposed, because the infographics quickly become out of date. Already, for example, it incorrectly states the situation in Alberta, Canada. How much is it wrong in other places? How far behind will it be in six months? --Yamla (talk) 13:37, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
Protests, attacks, legal action
editCurrently there is a mix of violent attacks against drivers and organized protests under the "protests and legal action" section. There is a clear distinction between the two, and the section should probably be split in three (protests, legal action, and attacks), as is done in the Uber article. No mention of Vergara v. Uber class action
editThis turned into a $20 million settlement. [1] [2] Thundermaker (talk) 13:18, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
