Talk:World War III (miniseries)

  • Added information as to the nature of the ending, which was revealed by Rock Hudson not long after the series aired and it was obviously a ratings failure insofar as a sequel was concerned. Both Rona Barrett and several localized TV Guide newspaper inserts reported this at the time.
  • Note that David Soul has also stated that during filming he was under the impression that the film ends on a more positive note, with his character shaking hands with the Soviet commander, and that apparently the scene where he and his adversary are killed by a suicide grenade was added in after filming so as to force a more apocalyptic ending. Citation for this needs to be dug up before it should be added to the entry, but is noted here for those who've got access to the resources. Yep, I remember reading it, but this was 25 years ago, children...
  • Corrected the spellin' uv "Premier". Sum kidz kant spel wurth a frak...
  • Added info and link for NBC as the network that aired this series.

Secret invasion

edit

Invasions are inherently not secret - like explosions! So is there not a better term than "secret invasion". I realize that since this film was made Russia has indeed launched secret invasions of Crimea and eastern Ukraine, but those differ because Russia claims that they are not involved at all(despite that being patently false). There are no stooges that can be blamed in Alaska.125.237.105.102 (talk) 07:16, 6 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Novelization

edit

More detail is needed as to how the novelization differs from the miniseries. 136.159.160.4 (talk) 19:31, 8 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

80 min film version?

edit

You can find a german language version on the advertising video on demand portal netzkino [1] which is only 80 mins long. The covered plot seams to be the same as written in this article. Maybe this shortened film version could also be mentioned in the wikipedia article. --93.132.84.202 (talk) 09:13, 9 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
