Critical reception

edit

Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic rated the album three stars out of five, saying that its sound was "professional" and praising the variety of sounds on it, but also saying that it was "just a shade too slick".[1] Tammy Ragusa of Country Weekly gave it a "B", praising Rogers' voice and saying that "the results are exciting, the sound is effortless... and, make no mistake, it is country."[2] A positive review came from Matt Bjorke of Roughstock, who said that Jay Joyce's production made the album "vibrant and fresh without ever losing the identity that fans have come to love from them."[3]
