...will this do Stephen?

Right now I'm losing much faith in Wikipedia. Perhaps it's because I'm an inclusionist but it saddens me to see over 100 articles listed for deletion and users whose only task on wikipedia is to quote hundreds of vague policies then demand articles are redirected merged or deleted. It's sad that tthese people forget that the whole point of wikipedia is to store knowledge. If I want to read about a character in a film and instead of finding an entire page dedicated to the protagonist of it I find a redirect link and a tiny shitty paragraph about him it's kinda pointless isn't it? Who really cares about whether or not the subjects covered by "reliable third party sources"? It's a sad case of people feeling that because they're admins or have edited loads they're somehow in charge here. Or it's not notable in some users mind? It's notable to me and that's what attracted me to wikipedia to begin with. But what does it matter? I probably fail some policy or guideline as well. Perhaps I should be deleted?
