Penny Dreadful: City of Angels is an upcoming television series created by John Logan for Showtime. The series, a spin-off to Penny Dreadful, was ordered in November 2018, and is set "in 1938 Los Angeles, a time and place deeply infused with Mexican-American folklore and social tension".[1]
Premise
editPenny Dreadful: City of Angels is set nearly 40 years after the original series, during the Golden Age of Hollywood of the 1930s. It takes place in 1938 Los Angeles, a time and place "deeply infused with Mexican-American folklore and social tension". The characters are connected in conflict to the deity, Santa Muerte while others are allied with the Devil. Detective Tiago Vega is tasked with a gruesome murder case and soon becomes embroiled in L.A.'s history; "from the building of the city's first freeways and its deep traditions of Mexican-American folklore, to the dangerous espionage actions of the Third Reich and the rise of radio evangelism." Tiago and his family struggle with powerful forces that threaten to tear them apart.[2]

Lukas Mraz (* 24. Juli 1990) ist ein österreichischer Koch und Gastronom.[1]
Leben
editMraz ist ein Sohn des Koches Markus Mraz und wuchs gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder, nach der Trennung der Eltern, bei diesem auf. Bereits sein Urgroßvater betrieb ein Wiener Kaffeehaus, sein Großvater ein Beisl. Von Kindesbeinen an erledigte er Hilfstätigkeiten für seinen Vater in dessen Restaurant. Nach seiner Ausbildung an der Gastronomiefachschule Wien,[2] lernte er bei Jean-Georges Klein im L’Arnsbourg in Baerenthal in Lothringen und arbeitete anschließend für Jonnie Boer im niederländischen Zwolle.[3] Weiterhin war er in Bergisch Gladbach tätig (Vendôme) und verbrachte zweieinhalb Jahre als Küchenchef in der Berliner Weinbar Cordobar (mittlerweile nur noch Cordo[4]) seines Landsmannes Gerhard Retter.[5][6] Seitdem ist er als Koch an Seiten seines Vaters und seines Bruders (welcher den Service leitet) im mit zwei Michelinsternen ausgezeichneten Wiener Restaurant Mraz und Sohn tätig, welches von seinem Großvater gegründet wurde.[7][8]
TV-Auftritte
editIm Jahr 2018 war Mraz in der Sendung Knife Fight Club als Duellant zu Gast und ging im Kochduell mit Sascha Stemberg als Sieger hervor.[9][10] Im Frühjahr 2019 war er als Duellant von Tim Mälzer in der 4. Staffel von Kitchen Impossible zu sehen,[1] wobei er auch hier siegreich aus dem Duell hervorging.[11]
