To whom it may concern:

I am Lars Roede, a native and citizen of Norway, born 1944 in Oslo and now living on an island in Asker with a wife and with two children as occasional house guests. I graduated as an architect from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1970. In 2001 I earned the degree dr. ing. from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, defending a thesis about vernacular architecture in early modern Oslo.

My professional life began in institutions for the preservation of cultural heritage on the local and national levels. In 1983 I became head curator of the Norsk Folkemuseum, responsible for the open air museum. In 2002–2006 I was director of the Oslo City Museum, and later its senior curator.

I have been an active contributor to Wikipedia since 2004, in Norwegian and other languages. From 2010 until 2012 I was a board member of Wikimedia Norge, the local chapter of Norwegian Wikipedia.
