 Welcome ChurroCat!
Hello ChurroCat. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions!

I'm Sm8900, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.

Some common sense Dos and Don'ts:
    Do be bold
    Do assume good faith
    Do be civil
    Do keep cool!
Do maintain a neutral point of view
    Don't spam
    Don't infringe copyright
Don't edit where you have a conflict of interest
    Don't commit vandalism
    Don't get blocked
If you need further help, you can:
    Ask a question
or you can:
    Get help at the Teahouse
or even:
Ask an experienced editor to "adopt" you

Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{Help me}} here on your talk page and someone will try to help.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
    Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
    Help contribute to articles
    Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
    Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost
Translate articles from Wikipedias in other languages

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your userpage.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the   button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Hi @Greenman I will leave this comment on the Talk page for Jane Fine, but I've added a reference to nearly every sentence, so I think that the page should be ready to be checked again (by you or any other qualified editor). ChurroCat (talk) 14:22, 15 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Can you clarify about "way too many primary sources"? I believe that this is the opposite, given that I have added references to nearly every sentence (as I was instructed by a previous editor) from secondary sources.
The artist is notable. She is one of a few female artists to have won an individual NEA grant, she is represented by a number of collections, and was an integral part of the Williamsburg art scene from the 1980s onwards. ChurroCat (talk) 14:22, 15 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Theroadislong Can you advise on which primary sources were "too many"? ChurroCat (talk) 14:26, 15 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
You have used [1] 12 times for example and there are other instances of profile pages which are primary. Theroadislong (talk) 14:29, 15 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please wiki link the museums so it is clear that they are notable. Theroadislong (talk) 14:30, 15 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I'll do that, too, if that helps make a case for their notability. 71.249.54.92 (talk) 14:31, 15 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I'll change that. 71.249.54.92 (talk) 14:31, 15 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Would you be able to tell me which sources are unreliable? I purposely used sources from JSTOR and Google Books when possible. Many of the websites are art magazines and journals, too. Please let me know and I can revise. Thanks! ChurroCat (talk) 17:41, 23 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Information icon  Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Also the text was correct: 'If you are here just to castigated me (I know there shouldn't be "d", so it's a mistake; fix it yourself), please don't come here. Find anywhere... They are meant to pass a message, and obviously not a grammatical error. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 18:20, 23 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry! I honestly thought you were encouraging people to edit it given that you wrote "it's a mistake; fix it yourself." ChurroCat (talk) 18:54, 23 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
