Just starting over with a new talk page for now. For people who are wondering, yes, someone told me on Discord that it's fine to remove warnings from your own talk page. I will respect that now. Vanished user 60279853583153 (talk) 21:26, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Did you even read my words ?? FF0010 (talk) 22:47, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I did. Now you read this. I will not keep replying to you or warning you until you are more polite to other editors, stop adding complaints about Wikipedia to articles instead of just bringing them up on a talk page, and stop blanking AIV. Returning after a courtesy vanishing

edit

I noticed that this account seems to have undergone a courtesy vanishing but has now returned. Please note that Wikipedia:Courtesy vanishing states that vanishing is not intended to be temporary and that If the user returns, the "vanishing" will likely be fully reversed, the old and new accounts will be linked, and any outstanding sanctions or restrictions will be resumed. In light of this, if you wish to continue editing, I recommend requesting that you change your username to one that doesn't represent a vanished account. This is primarily to avoid confusing other editors. Thanks, Mz7 (talk) 23:16, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have done so and am waiting for it to be approved. Sorry that it is taking a while. Vanished user 60279853583153 (talk) 23:19, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Got it, thanks! Mz7 (talk) 23:25, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

I removed it because there was nothing in the provided links that said that Madden was booed or people were laughing at his fat. In any event, Wikipedia needs to be more neutral. You jagoff. Jgera5 (talk) 21:30, 6 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion contested: Draft:Svoboda battalion

edit

Hello Among Us for POTUS. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Draft:Svoboda battalion, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Drafts aren't eligible for A3. Thank you. BangJan1999 01:53, 7 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

My bad, I had not realized that. I can see why now. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 01:54, 7 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Tagging pages for deletion

edit

Hello, Among Us for POTUS,

If you anticipate tagging more pages for deletion, I urge you to start using Twinkle, an editing tool used by page patrollers and administrators. It has a lot of great features but the one I want to emphasize is that Twinkle will post notices to the talk pages of the page creator, informing them that a page an article or draft they created has been tagged for deletion. It's important to inform content creators, whether experienced or new ones, of why their pages might be headed to deletion. It could be they are making mistakes that we can keep them from repeating.

Just be sure to set up your Twinkle Preferences by checking off the box that says "Notify page creator" and then Twinkle will post these notices on your behalf. If you have questions about Twinkle or deletion tagging, I encourage you to bring them to the Teahouse where more experienced editors can answer them and offer support. Thank you. Liz Read! Thank you for the information, I'll look into this. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 03:16, 8 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Zekerocks11 has given you a brownie! Brownies promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a brownie, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. I love your name so much lmao. Keep up the good work with editing! Hoping to see you around more, every time I see your name it makes me laugh and wonder how it's allowed on here but it is so far and I love it!

WHACK!

edit

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

The reason for you being whacked is: You want to upload Wikipe-tan hentai on Wikimedia Commons. How couldst thine? Whyst wouldeth thou do such a thingst? ARandomPage (talkcontribs) 01:31, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

commons:Commons:Nudity - there is SFW and echii images of Wikipe-tan, but no hentai. I'll get back to you if I can find any free Wikipe-tan hentai images (so far, all I can find is copyrighted stuff and stuff where I'm unsure what the license is, but for those wondering, there IS Wikipe-tan hentai out there!) Among Us for POTUS (talk) 01:37, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
But Wikipe-tan hentai serves No Purpose! Or at least, No Actually Useful Purpose. Ergo, it should not be placed on Commons. ARandomPage (talkcontribs) 14:23, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Sure it does! It educates you about what Wikipe-tan looks like when she's doing the ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Among Us for POTUS (talk) 18:12, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
That's unimportant. And stupid. There's no real education there. Heck, I'll argue that a picture of Wikipe-tan dying of death is more important because it illustrates how to kill one of Wikipedia's greatest threats. ARandomPage (talkcontribs) 03:18, 10 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I found something on Gelbooru once of lewd Wikipe-tan being killed, but I found it too disgusting to consider. That's the problem with these images boorus btw Among Us for POTUS (talk) 03:19, 10 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Anyway, I asked AntiCompositeNumber about it. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 03:26, 10 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

You asked "I can't really tell how to get this image to fit in where it should, maybe someone smarter than me can fix it." May i ask you which image? Zyxrq (talk) 02:40, 10 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

The military badge image that I removed. It was intended to fit alongside the section where it was placed inside wikitext. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 02:40, 10 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

There's multiple ways we can do that. do you want it on the left or right side?--Zyxrq (talk) 02:43, 10 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Left if possible, right works too if it fits better there. I spent some time working on it but it would only fit there if I made it entirely frameless, but that wasn't very well formatted at all. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 02:44, 10 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I see the problem. if we are going to do that we will haft add content to the artical, stuff like history, this will give room for us to actually put the image in there. Zyxrq (talk) 02:52, 10 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Alright got it, that's what I was thinking we'd need to do too, I just didn't have the time to add it yet. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 02:53, 10 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Md Aurangzeb Alam misbahi

edit

Hello, Among Us for POTUS,

Just a head's up, there is no point in reviewing drafts that are going to expire in the next 24 hours. They will just be deleted any way in a few hours. There are better areas where you could use your skills and your time to catch promotional or nonsensical drafts. Just a suggestion. Liz Read! Talk! 06:03, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ah I see, thanks. I didn't check at what time it would expire. Thanks for the information, I'll check the expiration time next time. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 06:04, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
That's okay, I wasn't sure how you find pages to review. We work with lists of soon-to-be expiring drafts and I thought you might be checking pages from those lists/categories. I see that you were not so never mind my "warning". Keep up the good work, I see you are getting some feedback and taking it well. It will all help you become a better editor and patroller. There are a heck of a lot of guidelines here, plus those that are common practices and not written down, and it takes time to get comfortable with them all. Good luck. Liz Read! Copyrighted Content

edit

On these edits you reverted, could you contact a mod to purge them from the edit history? I think they may be copied and pasted and could raise copyright concerns. TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 16:26, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for informing me about that. I think you can contact an admin from this list of recently active ones: https://apersonbot.toolforge.org/recently-active/?admins (for the record: Wikipedia does not have mods; the closest to what you're looking for is admins) Among Us for POTUS (talk) 16:28, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Ah thanks, also, noticed another IP in the same range is doing the same thing. Do you think this is sock puppetry or a coincidence? TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 16:33, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Maybe sockpuppetry, also mobile data IPs tend to switch around very fast, and the ISP for the IPs is a cellular data network. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 16:34, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

CSD Criteria

edit

Note that I declined your speedy deletion of Draft:ShipStation as none of the criteria applied. G1 is inapplicable as the draft is not incomprehensible gibberish. G5 is inapplicable as the draft was created on November 9, 2022, but the sockmaster was only blocked on December 10, 2022, therefore the creation was not made in violation of their ban or block as the master was not blocked at the time.-- Ponyobons mots 17:51, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Oh, thank you for the explanation. I'm not too sure what qualifies as gibberish. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 02:48, 14 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

If something is completely incomprehensible, e.g., a random string of letters, or words arranged in a completely random order nobody can make sense, that is gibberish. An article/draft with only a few words, a test page, something in foreign language, or something written in poor grammar is not a G1. Thanks. VickKiang (talk) 07:03, 14 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Nominate user bio pages fo CSD

edit

I saw in User:Jackgreyj you just blanked the page. It's easier to nominate the page for speedy deletion, especially if you use Twinkle. RPI2026F1 (talk) 19:15, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I disagree, RPI2026F1, pages don't always need to be deleted, it is often easier to remove the unwanted content than delete the entire page and its page history. There should always be a good reason why a page needs to be deleted. Liz Read! Talk! 20:05, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
In the case I saw I thought it would be a clear use of misusing Wikipedia as a web host. RPI2026F1 (talk) 21:57, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I read WP:FAKEARTICLE and it said to blank articles that someone wrote in user space. I just followed the directions. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 02:48, 14 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oh alright, might have been doing it wrong myself then, my bad. RPI2026F1 (talk) 02:57, 14 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Tagging pages for speedy deletion

edit

Hello, Among Us for POTUS,

Please do not tag pages for CSD G5, you do not understand the criteria. It is not for sockpuppetry, it for ban evasion. This criteria is commonly misunderstood.

So, if a sockmaster was just blocked two days ago, you can't tag drafts their sockpuppets created in November for CSD G5 speedy deletion and you can not tag any articles that the sockmaster created either. It is only for future article creation by the original blocked editor. It's a tricky criteria, you have to check who the sockmaster was, when they were blocked, when the article was created, which account created the article, it takes some investigation so please just stay clear of tagging pages for this criteria until you have more experience. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 20:02, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Also adding here for Kaapa (film) which you tagged a couple of days ago for A3. Sure, the page is questionably notable and many of the article creator's pages have been deleted, but as per the WP:NPP instructions, Do not be too hasty to use CSD A1 (no context), CSD A3 (no content), or CSD A7 (no indication of importance for people, animals, organizations, web content, events); per § Care, wait at least an hour to give time to the creator to add content and/or references, could you wait for a while before tagging A1/A3/A7? It used to be 15 mins but now the guideline has been updated to 1 hour, still in any case 4 minutes is too quick. You probably already know this but this is just a reminder. Many thanks. VickKiang (talk) 22:24, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I didn't know that yet, I wasn't sure how to find these policies. I read through the list of policies at things like WP:The five pillars of Wikipedia, but I don't know how to find so many essays and policies that are linked to me often. I will, however, refrain from tagging things as CSD G5, G1, A3, A1, A7, etc. for the time being until I can observe others' tags and see what are accepted and declined. I understand that I lack expertise in this area. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 02:46, 14 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
There's a trick to finding policy pages (and other backend documents): in the search bar, type WP:[name of topic]. So if you want to know the speedy deletion criteria, type WP:speedy deletion - the first result is Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. Other ones I use often are WP:template index and WP:perennial sources. If you don't get an obviously good result in the list, you can click the Search for pages containing option at the bottom and the page you're looking for may pop up in the full results. 97.113.177.161 (talk) 13:55, 14 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
That makes sense. Thanks. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 02:43, 14 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hello, Among Us for POTUS,
I saw you tagged a lot of pages for protection, but most of them were rejected by sysops. If socks have already been blocked and there is no obvious evidence for further socks, please refrain from making requests for protection, from my short experience, they are likely to be refused. Lemonaka (talk) 23:09, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the information. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 02:47, 14 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

December 2022

edit

A page you created has been nominated for deletion as an attack page, according to section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

Do not create pages that attack, threaten, or disparage their subject or any other entity. Attack pages and files are not tolerated by Wikipedia, and users who create or add such material may be blocked from editing. Lemonaka (talk) 23:13, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Creating attack pages for established users, even they are being blocked, are not appropriate. This is something called WP:gravedancing, ghost may haunt around you. Lemonaka (talk) 23:43, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm unsure which one you're talking about, but... I'm assuming it's what I wrote in my sandbox? If so, it's hardly an attack page. It is not an insult towards the user who created the redirects. Among Us for POTUS (talk) 02:44, 14 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes, this is a kind of insulting. Confirmed by a sysop. Lemonaka (talk) 04:00, 14 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
