Good work you have done on the school article, but can I suggest you leave the references to Felsted School in biographies as such. It is not well known enough to international readers to be left as the village name. Regards Motmit (talk) 21:28, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Hubert Huddleston

edit

A tag has been placed on Hubert Huddleston requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Notability

edit

I ask that you kindly explain the notability of Edward Forster (antiquary), and in fact of any and all articles you make in future. Please make certain that the first edit of the article contains some assertion of notability. DS (talk) 05:19, 11 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ian Smith and Edinburgh University

edit

Hey. Sometime ago you added information on Ian Smith (Scottish rugby player born 1903) playing rugby union for Edinburgh University RFC, however you never added any references supporting this. I have sources saying that he studied accounting at the university, but have not found any saying he played for the club. It's very likely that he did, however without sources I'm not comfortable having it in the article. Do you have access to any reliable sources on any of this? -- Shudde talk 12:16, 25 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

you ask about Ian Smith and Edinburgh University RFC. Ian Smith appears in four EU RFC 1st XV photographs 1925-29. And played for four seasons. This clearly discussed and described the history of the club by Ian Stevens. Page 28. Smith had learned the rudiments of rugby at his prep school Cargilfield, Edinburgh. From this place he went on to Winchester and Oxford.Adgw2 (talk) 19:24, 21 July 2014 (UTC)Adgw2Adgw2 (talk) 19:24, 21 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
