Guide to referencing
editClick on "show" to open contents.
Using references (citations) |
---|
I thought you might find it useful to have some information about references (refs) on wikipedia. These are important to validate your writing and inform the reader. Any editor can removed unreferenced material; and unsubstantiated articles may end up getting deleted, so when you add something to an article, it's highly advisable to also include a reference to say where it came from. Referencing may look daunting, but it's easy enough to do. Here's a guide to getting started. Good referenceseditA reference must be accurate, i.e. it must prove the statement in the text. To validate "Mike Brown climbed Everest", it's no good linking to a page about Everest, if Mike Brown isn't mentioned, nor to one on Mike Brown, if it doesn't say that he climbed Everest. You have to link to a source that proves his achievement is true. You must use Reliable sources, such as published books, mainstream press, authorised web sites, and official documents. Blogs, Myspace, Youtube, fan sites and extreme minority texts are not usually acceptable, nor is Original research, e.g. your own unpublished, or self-published, essay or research. Simple referencingeditThe first thing you have to do is to create a "Notes and references" section. This goes towards the bottom of the page, below the "See also" section and above the "External links" section. Enter this code:
The next step is to put a reference in the text. Here is the code to do that. It goes at the end of the relevant term, phrase, sentence, or paragraph to which the note refers, and after punctuation such as a full stop, without a space (to prevent separation through line wrap):
Whatever text you put in between these two tags will become visible in the "Notes and references" section as your reference. Test it outeditCopy the following text, open the edit box for this page, paste it at the bottom (inserting your own text) and save the page:
(End of text to copy and paste.) Information to includeeditYou need to include the information to enable the reader to find your source. For a book it might look like this:
An online newspaper source would be:
Note the square brackets around the URL. The format is [URL Title] with a space between the URL and the Title. If you do this the URL is hidden and the Title shows as the link. Use double apostrophes for the article title, and two single quote marks either side of the name of the paper (to generate italics). The date after The Guardian is the date of the newspaper, and the date after "Retrieved on" is the date you accessed the site – useful for searching the web archive in case the link goes dead. Wikilinks (double square brackets which create an internal link to a wikipedia article) function inside the ref tags. Dates are wikilinked so that they work with user preference settings. Citation templateseditYou may prefer to use a citation template to compile details of the source. The template goes between the ref tags and you fill out the fields you wish to. Basic templates can be found here: Wikipedia:Template messages/Sources of articles/Citation quick reference Same ref used twice or moreeditThe first time a reference appears in the article, you can give it a simple name in the <ref> code:
The second time you use the same reference in the article, you need only to create a short cut instead of typing it all out again:
You can then use the short cut as many times as you want. Don't forget the /, or it will blank the rest of the article! A short cut will only pick up from higher up the page, so make sure the first ref is the full one. Some symbols don't work in the ref name, but you'll find out if you use them. ExampleeditYou can see refs in action in the article William Bowyer (artist). There are 3 sources and they are each referenced 3 times. Each statement in the article has a footnote to show what its source is. Next stepeditWhen you become familiar with the process, the next step is to have one section, "Footnotes", with links embedded in the text, and another, "References", which lists all of your references alphabetically with full details, e.g. for a book:
If you're ready to go into it further, these pages have detailed information:
I hope this helps. If you need any assistance, let me know. |
Postmodernism
editI have no idea if it's the 1970s, the 1980s, or the 1990s. I find the notion of "postmodern art" to be basically gibberish. Bus stop 16:33, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- Some argue that modern art ends with minimalism in the 1960s. The 1970s is a less controversial cut-off date referred to in the article on modern art. The article on modernism ends in 1945. Any date between the end of WWII and the 1970s will have its adherents. The statement that modern art ends in the 1990s runs counter to the normal assumptions and would need to be supported with a reference. --Ethicoaestheticist 16:52, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- The 1970s is fine with me. The article on Postmodern art is noncommittal about this. Bus stop 16:58, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Cinema1 Deleuze.gif)
editThanks for uploading Image:Cinema1 Deleuze.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:44, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Ferus Gallery
editThe image was deleted because the copyright was from the Smithsonian and they deleted every image on Wikipedia with a Smithsonian copyright, because the Smithsonian copyright template was deleted. I don't really know why, but all images with that copyright tag suddenly were images hung out to dry. Modernist 14:26, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
- That explains it. Thanks. --Ethicoaestheticist 14:32, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for helping with the InfoArt cleanup project. Tyrenius 21:48, 22 June 2007 (UTC) |
She's categorized a Parsi and is on the List of Parsis. Given that "Parsi" is an old term for "Zoroastrian", and the Category:Parsis is a subcat of Category:Zoroastrians, it seemed reasonable to add the Zoroastrian tag. I acknowledge that many of the Parsis today may be more ethnically than religiously "Parsi", but the connection seems kind of obvious. I don't think that the project is at all likely to try to "take over" the content of the article with religious-based information, although if we find such info in reliable sources there's a good chance it'll be included while not giving that info undue weight within the article. Also, it's being added to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Zoroastrianism/Articles list, which will allow the members to check it for recent changes, like vandalism and other nonproductive changes, etc. However, you probably could remove it, if you saw fit to, and it might not be noticed by anyone other than me, and I don't think I'd be likely to replace it. John Carter 16:34, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the full response. No reason why she can't be a sculptor and a parsi!--Ethicoaestheticist 17:01, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- I did a bit of Google-based research. The content of her work is vehemently anti-religious, and without evidence that she self-identifies herself as Parsi or Zoroastrian I'm removing the cat and tag. But, as you say, the article is pretty insignificant, with no links to it, so it's unlikely that anyone cares one way or the other!--Ethicoaestheticist 22:43, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- No problem, then, and thanks for the work. I would only note that if in time it does become clear that she is of Parsi descent (however that's determined) then that category could probably be returned. John Carter 22:45, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Homework
editBbik, re:[1]. Perhaps a new article should be created: Homework help with The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Don't worry, I'm only joking.--Ethicoaestheticist 22:51, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Kosovo: country debate
editHello. There's a discussion going on Talk:List of countries as to whether or not Kosovo should be included in that list. You have an interest in Serbia-related articles and I thought you might be interested. The articles List of countries and Annex to the list of countries (where the inclusion criteria reside) are both relevant. Cheers. DSuser 14:53, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Elizabeth Murray (artist)
editYou were hasty. You wrote, "the askart website does not list where her work is held". That is incorrect. Please be more careful. If you go to http://www.askart.com/AskART/M/elizabeth_heaphy_murray/elizabeth_heaphy_murray.aspx?searchtype=SUMMARY&artist=33650, you will find that there is a link, plain as day, called "museums". Now, to help the unobservant, I could list that page as a separate link. Actually, I have done that for articles in the past, anticipating just this problem. And you know what happened? Another officious deletionist deleted the "redundant link". Maybe you should be more careful before you delete things, or even consider erring in future on the side of inclusion? MdArtLover 00:13, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- No mistake. The page does not have a link to museums. (The word 'museums' appears at the top left, but it isn't a link - at least for me - perhaps it's available to subscribers?). The link to 'quick facts' lists The Stuart Collection and UBS-Paine Webber Collection.[2] --Ethicoaestheticist 08:31, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

editHi Ethico, For what its worth, he was a known albeit slightly known Abstract expressionist active in the heyday of the New York School. He's mentioned in the major De Kooning biography by Mark Stevens and Annalyn Swann and he's also included in New York School Abstract Expressionists Artists Choice by Artists,] (New York School Press, 2000.) editThank you for your interest and contribution to the Wally Hedrick page. It is greatly appreciated.
I am now trying to gather the post-1970's data collected on Wally. Therefore:
If you don't mind, may I ask you one question? You placed a citation tag on a commonly known Bay Area fact: "Catherine Conlin was introduced to Wally Hedrick by a blind-date arranged LG Williams." My question is this, if you would like a citation, how would I go about doing that if it is common knowledge, but as yet not officially documented?
Thank you for your assistance! --Art4em 02:16, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

editHi Ethicoaestheticist Thank you for your advice. If you have the time please read my Salmon1 as well as my two replies to Tyrenius's E-mails and the reply to Anastrophe, the person that I cannot track. Wikipedia is a tough place because very few people (if at all) keep to some personal reliability. I made an early mistake and used my name instead of an assumed one. I am a good sport and I enjoy proving to myself that as long as I make a conscientious effort to be reliable the truth will always be on my side and I will be protected. I believe that the good always wins and the bad ultimately loses. I do the fight of life in my way. I believe in service in order to give thanks for my fortune. It is OK that people like me can be attacked in the most unimaginable way. Everything is learning and I love to learn. I will test your advice for watchlist and if you allow me I will report on it. Thank you for your caring words. Sincerely Yours, (Salmon1 23:06, 7 November 2007 (UTC))
- I shall follow your advice and pay attention what happens to my User talk:page but ultimately I am with Wikipedia in order to do a service for people who cannot afford to find free reliable material for they research projects. - I just looked at your talk page and I saw that you got some advice from "Modernist." I would like to add that Alcopley was not included in the book American Abstract Expressionism of the 1950s An Illustrated Survey, (New York School Press, 2003.) ISBN 0-9677994-1-4.
The article is short but very informative and I would like to congretulate you for it. Importance is very relative. Style is timely but art is timeless. Best regards, Sincerely Yours, (Salmon1 00:30, 8 November 2007 (UTC))

Hi. While I appreciate the effort you have put into referencing the article, what I really need to see is references that cite the parts of the article that make him notable. The part that would make him notable is his exhibits in the major art museums. If you could source those facts, then I would be happy to accept the individual as notable. Rollback
editHello Ethicoaestheticist, I have granted rollback rights to your account. The reason for this is that, after a review of some of your contributions, I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended use of reverting vandalism: I do not believe you will abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck. Adriano Bulla
editHello, I find it at least curious that you want to delete the article on this poet on the basis of the fact that 'you do not know him'. I do not find it acceptable also that youb discredit the sources (The Guardian, Greatworks and UK Poetry Live) online, especially as one is a record of a prestigious UK newspaper, the second is a famous poettry website. It is also plainly NOT TRUE that Bulla has published 'a couple of articles', while everybody can find his poetry on sale all over the world and in famous bookshops like Blackwell.—Preceding unsigned comment added by TonyBrit (TonyBrit • contribs) 11:30, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

What's up with that?
Well, I'm sick of playing Sisyphus and cleaning up after them, so I have deleted these articles from my watchlist, and Some Other Editor can maintain/update it … or not.

Patrolling the Surrealism article for rubbish and nonsense, I came across a link for this article. I find its existence troubling, as, it seems, do you. As best as I can tell from the "references" provided therein, there has been no coverage of this "artistic movement" in any reliable third-party art magazines---I have never heard of any of those listed in the article. I am also troubled by the fact that the article has been edited by at least one person---Alan King---involved in Massurrealism, and perhaps more than one, considering the number of anonymous users who have made edits. It is interesting and astonishing, and perhaps quite telling, that the article has existed for three years and yet is still in a very sorry state. Do you have any suggestions as to the manner with which we should approach this---an AfD, perhaps? ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 04:28, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Colter Jacobsen
editA tag has been placed on Colter Jacobsen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ninety:one 12:47, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

- I think you're referring to the Postmodern art article. I suggested the quote should be cut on 20 February 2007, when the article looked like this: [4]. It was actually cut by User:Stirling Newberry as part of a major overhaul of the article: [5]. Largely as a result of Newberry's intervention, the article is in much better shape now. Hetter's quote can still be found on the internet, and in all probability comes from the old version of the Wiki article itself, generated by mirror sites.--Ethicoaestheticist (talk) 18:11, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Since Mr. Alivandi is a contemporary artist, and not highly commercially successful (i.e. his work does not command high prices), he has not been published extensively, as is the case with most contemporary artists who have not yet become as famous as others. However, Mr. Alivandi is a genuine - and active - artist: he attended recognised art schools in Tehran, Iran, and has exhibited extensively in Europe, and continues to do so. I have information that his work is about to be included in future sales of Iranian contemporary art at Sotheby's and Christie's, auction houses. Since it seems he is about to receive more recognition and fame, since the international market for Arab and Iranian contemporary art is currently going from strength to strength, I thought it was of interest to create an article about him and show a selection of his artwork (there are articles about fellow Iranian contemporary artists on Wikipedia already, and none have notability tags). My biographical information comes from French and German language biographies that I translated with the help of one or two friends, and from direct contact with the artist himself. All of the information in the article is factual, and the artist is well known to a whole generation of older Iranian artists. I have tried to write the article using critical skills and academic conventions on how to write about art that I learnt while gaining my degree in Art History from the University of Bristol.
I do not know what I can do to improve the notability of the article, since Mr. Alivandi does not appear in any books or English language magazine/newspaper articles. However, I have many newspaper clippings about the artist from Austrian and Iranian newspapers.
I don't, personally, feel there is any question regarding the notability of the article, and I would be grateful if you would let me know why, specifically, you felt the article's notability is questionable. Please don't interpret my question as hostile, I'm simply not a very experienced Wikipedia user (I have only created three articles thusfar) and I would appreciate your guidance and assistance with this matter. All best wishes, Mahboubian (talk) 11:42, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- Dear Ethicoaestheticist,
- Thanks for your advice. I have created a bibliography section - with information on articles and exhibition catalogs - and a section for prizes, to make the article more notable.
- Regarding the links you brought to my attention: one of the guidelines for 'Creative Professionals' at WP:CREATIVE requires that: "The person is regarded as an important figure...by their peers or successors", and that is certainly the case with Alivandi. He was one of Iran's leading modernist painters before the Iranian Revolution of 1978-9, because of which he was forced to leave the country (since the Islamic government is opposed to free artistic expression). Famous Iranian contemporary artists all know and regard Alivandi, and so I believe he meets the notability guidelines for Creative Professionals at WP:CREATIVE. Moreover, the introduction to that whole section on Notability states that a person ought to be: "significant, interesting, or unusual enough to deserve attention or to be recorded", and that "Notable in the sense of being "famous", or "popular"...is secondary." While Alivandi is not "famous" he is "significant" because he was one of Iran's leading modernist painters during the 60s and 70s and was an "official" painter of the nation (he held a government-appointed position), and taught/influenced a host of famous contemporary Iranian painters. Furthermore, he is "interesting" to anyone interested in contemporary and/or Iranian art. Therefore he deserves "to be recorded" in order to preserve his name and his position in Iranian art before the Revolution, which has caused his reputation to become less known.
- With your permission, I would now like to remove the notability tag that you placed on the article, and I will endeavour to continue adding information to the article to make it more notable (I need to meet once more with my German-speaking friends for help with translating the articles I have). Best wishes, Mahboubian (talk) 13:24, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
- You don't need my permission. I added the notability tag to indicate concerns with the article. These concerns have now been addressed and it's looking much better now. A polite exchange of views, an improved article, WP as it ought to be!--Ethicoaestheticist (talk) 20:01, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Esao Andrews
editWhat would help this article? Clearly Esao has prodigious talent. Also, I have to ask why visual arts are not a category included in the Notability Guidelines. Thanks in advance. BingoDingo (talk) 15:49, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
- The notability guidelines do include visual arts. See WP:CREATIVE, a subsection of the notability criteria for biographies. If Andrews doesn't meet the specific criteria for visual artists (works in museum collections, major awards etc.), notability can also be established through significant coverage in reliable third-party sources. I hope that helps.--Ethicoaestheticist (talk) 20:38, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
- His works have been featured at Jonathan LeVine Gallery, Chelsea Art Galleries, BoingBoing, Beinart.org featured artist, Dorothy Circus Gallery, Rome, Italy, and a featured Artist at Juxtapoz.com. This from a ten minute Google search. Please note that beinart.org is considered a "one stop source" for contemporary surrealists. BingoDingo (talk) 16:46, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Hey there, can you explain why you removed the category of Contemporary artists from this article? Did John die? Murderbike (talk) 23:21, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- hmm. can you explain the difference? Murderbike (talk) 23:36, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- Graphic designers design graphics (eg for album covers) artists make art (eg for art galleries). Is that enough? Seriously though, if you want to put the category back, go ahead.--Ethicoaestheticist (talk) 23:43, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Please help me
editHello Ethicoaestheticist, Can you please help me in improving the article: Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa al Khalifa, painting for himself, by himself, for himself? Please let me know specifically where my mistakes are so I can improve it. I did not mean for it to be an advertising page. I believe that this article about his book is very important because he is one of the two established artists in Bahrain and the text in the article is just explaining his works. I would really appreciate your expert opinion and guidance. I am sorry I am new to all of these. Many thanks --Tokistar (talk) 23:54, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Curious
editHi Ethico, I noticed your recent edit on Postmodern art...(I agree we aren't in a postmodern era anymore) I had a conversation a few weeks ago with a graduate student who asked me to characterize these times or this era and I said.."well I guess everything still goes and its still a pluralistic time."..the student agreed...what are your thoughts?..Modernist (talk) 23:19, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Improvement of 2 articles
editHello Ethicoaestheticist. Could you please take a look. I improved 2 articles Franz West and Christiaan Tonnis. Can the notability tags be removed, or is further improvement to do? Thank you! Best wishes, Blaise Mann (talk) 14:25, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Kitsch non-controversy
editYour latest comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kitsch controversy in Sarasota, Florida looks most amicable ... but is cryptic. Could you perhaps elaborate on it there? -- Hoary (talk) 00:31, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- You said "Keep and move to Unconditional surrender (sculpture)". Given that there's virtually no evidence for any controversy in Sarasota, that seems an improvement. Now that the article has been "kept", could you care to go ahead and do it? (I fear that after my nomination for deletion and the bizarre little non-conversation near the foot of the talk page of the oddly terse closing administrator, my own renaming and stripping of what's peripheral and/or hearsay might be labeled vandalism or sour grapes or something.) -- Hoary (talk) 09:25, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- I see you're already hard at work. Well done! When you seem to have stopped (or paused), I may make some further changes. -- Hoary (talk) 10:43, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- Well well, "Unconditional Surrender (statue)" too. -- Hoary (talk) 12:01, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your dogged determination post-AfD. By which I mean, following it up with the closing admin and reminding me to improve a poor article that I helped to save.--Ethicoaestheticist (talk) 19:32, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- "Real-life" commitments unfortunately undog me. Given more time, effort and dog, I'd make an issue out of the closing admin's laziness. I see no sign that he read or has any interest in what was said in the AfD, or that he is willing either to think for himself or (perhaps because he is suddenly busy) to pass on this responsibility to somebody who will do so. But Tyrenius has done a good job. -- Hoary (talk) 00:06, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Something to think about: discussion on your Art & Language page
editI would like to wade in with an opinion on this confusion, even if it is two years too late. The entire article reads like a discussion of Australian cricket in the thirties which is desperate to ignore Donald Bradman; it's like a description of quantum mechanics acknowledging Enrico Fermi as important as Paul Dirac. I'm not comparing Art Language's contribution to that of quantum mechanics or cricket. Nor am I comparing Michael Baldwin, Mel Ramsden and Charles Harrison to Paul Dirac. Rather (if this isn't too big a word for you) it was a metaphor, serving to highlight the absurd skew in the article. The thinly veiled - and moderately juvenile - attempts to radicalize and politicize the ex-members reeks of a desperate need to make them sound more important than they really are. I'm sorry for whoever you are, but please stop editing this article, and find a more constructive way to make yourself feel important, and please contain your slightly priapic relationship with Jerry Saltz's crtiticism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blanchot (talk • contribs) 11:46, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
- I think there's a misunderstanding about how WP works here. The Art & Language article isn't my page. I've contributed to it, as have several others. A couple of anonymous IP addresses have edited the article, and have posted comments on the talk page suggesting that there's some kind of attempt to exclude specific artists. I genuinely don't understand this. Both (Michael Baldwin and Mel Ramsden) are referred to in the article. Sometimes editors that work on only one article assume that other editors have a single focus as well, and see conspiracy where none exists. Personally, I think that Art & Language is hugely significant, as are Baldwin and Ramsden, but I added Jerry Saltz's criticism because it's a legitimate source. That's because Art & Language is best served by having a well-sourced WP article. Like User:Syrthiss on the talkpage, I encourage Blanchot to be bold, but also to state sources.--Ethicoaestheticist (talk) 23:18, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Contemporary art
editHi Ethicoaestheticist. i would like to revitalize the wikiproject contemporary art. I added some resources and edited a bit the project pages. I think it would be useful to have a coordinated space for contemporary art. it is still needing quite a lot of effort to improve that Wikipedia offers in this field. hope you like the idea and thanks.--Iopensa (talk) 10:23, 24 September 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks Ethicoaestheticist for your feedback. Actually the statement on the contemporary art project page is not mine; i just moved some of the content from the front page in other tabs. I think your remarks are right and it is a very good hint to start on a single issue. let's see. for the moment i probably simply regret that there is still little content related to contemporary art on Wikipedia and it would be useful for everybody to improve it. I guess projects are sometimes a way to supplicate for help because you feel there is too much work. starting from a single issue is also here the way to go. best, --Iopensa (talk) 17:11, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of User talk:1stArtHistorian
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User talk:1stArtHistorian, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
