Thank you today for Charles Edward, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, introduced: "Charles Edward was born a British prince and had a quintessential upper-class Victorian upbringing. Nannies, governess, prep schools, Eton and regular visits to Granny Vicky. Until one day a succession crisis in a tiny German statelet changed his future forever. He was not the first candidate for the dukedom but German emperor (and cousin) Wilhelm wanted a boy he could mold into one of his henchmen and Charles Edward, whose father had been dead since before he was born, seemed like the perfect candidate. The teenaged prince had been put on path that would take him to strange, nasty places."! - Enjoy your first TFA day! - It's a special day for me as well. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:29, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, congratulations on reaching your Wikipedia teens :). I was six years old fifteen years ago so haven't been on here quite as long. Llewee (talk) 11:16, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! - I began celebrations with a FAC, of the article that I made my story ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:52, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Today I have two "musicians" on the Main page, one is also the topic of my story, watch and listen, - I like today's especially because you see him at work, hear him talk about his work and the result of his work - rare! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:30, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
... and a third, like 22 July but with interview and the music to be played today --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:32, 8 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
On 13 August, Bach's cantata was 300 years old, and the image one. The cantata is an extraordinary piece, using the chorale's text and famous melody more than others in the cycle. It's nice to have not only a recent death, but also this "birthday" on the Main page. And a rainbow in my places. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:32, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Cultybraggan Camp

edit

On 16 August 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Cultybraggan Camp, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that the area of Cultybraggan Camp has been a royal hunting ground, a prison for fervent Nazis and the site of an underground bunker intended for use in a nuclear war? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Cultybraggan Camp. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Cultybraggan Camp), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
