Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Godrej family may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • The family's presence in business began in the then-[[Bombay]] in 1897, when [[Ardeshir Godrej], after reading a newspaper article about rising citywide crime rates, began

Contribution problems

edit

Hi, I think it is clear that you are not a new contributor to Wikipedia and that this is causing some upset. It might be worth considering disclosure of any previous accounts because your knowledge of policy, your phrasings - such as "strong keep ... nom" and suchlike are not at all the sort of thing that someone with around 50 edits would usually manage. At first I thought that this was just in my head but now I see that others, too, are finding it a bit bizarre. There are legitimate reasons why someone might operate two accounts but it is almost always best to declare such. - Sitush (talk) 13:34, 29 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sure. I have indeed edited before, and my present non-concurrent use of multiple accounts falls under one of the legitimate use exemptions (privacy, as per WP:SOCK#LEGIT). I am happy to declare that my accounts do not overlap in editing. All of this being established, how long I have or have not been editing has absolutely no bearing on the quality or force or lack thereof of my comments. Mandalini (talk) 13:39, 29 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Except if you are in breach of a topic ban or a block. Yogesh? - Sitush (talk) 14:05, 29 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Nope. I am not in breach of a topic ban or a block. I have never been banned or blocked on any of my accounts. I do not know/am not Yogesh. Mandalini (talk) 14:09, 29 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thanks. I'll either have to assume good faith or ask for a checkuser. Something is odd - especially since you are now claiming several accounts, not just this and one other - but I'll see whether others agree. - Sitush (talk) 14:23, 29 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Nothing is odd; I have never been banned or blocked on any of my accounts, including this one. If you believe I'm up to no good because I happen to disagree with you, that's your prerogative - but unless you have evidence that I'm using multiple accounts in a fashion that contravenes policy (which you don't, as I'm not), I suggest you stick to debating policy, and not to questioning my bona fides. I'm already surprised by how vitriolic some of the personal commentary on the Priyardarshini AfD discussion has become. Mandalini (talk) 14:28, 29 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) They have to self-identify religious belief, as I pointed out with my comment regarding WP:BLP and WP:BLPCAT. I can see no such self-identification in the source that you provided, and your other contributions are not great. Take it to the talk page, please. - Sitush (talk) 14:34, 29 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
see my most recent edit to Nadir Godrej, posted before I read this message. I have no idea what "your other contributions are not great" is supposed to mean, but it seems needlessly disparaging and accomplishes no real purpose. Mandalini (talk) 14:36, 29 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Nadir Godrej shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Yes, it seems that I have exceeded 3RR also but there is an exemption for BLP issues. Please be careful about what you do next. Sitush (talk) 14:41, 29 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Good grief. The last edit I made to Nadir Godrej was to remove the contested material I had added in earlier. What's more, my prior "reverts" typically added in more sourcing, which is not the same thing as just reverting in the course of an edit war. If your next move is to add this to my talk page, I'm beginning to doubt that you're acting in good faith. Mandalini (talk) 14:44, 29 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
