please solve the issue

Thanks Ismnail — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ismailim (talkcontribs) 20:31, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

@Ismailim: There is nothing to solve. The page content is copied and pasted from the Google Play Store page for the app, so it is a copyright violation. Additionally it is blatantly promotional which is a violation of Wikipedia policy. RA0808 talkcontribs 20:35, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)

PEI Referendum results

WOW, I just looked at the page history for the Prince Edward Island electoral reform referendum, 2016 and it looks like our edits were 4 seconds apart! LOL talk about parallel thinking!

I know we both worked hard on our respective tables, and so I'd love to talk to you about whether we should keep both results tables or whether we should delete one. What are your thoughts?

Bkissin (talk) 02:04, 8 November 2016 (UTC)

@Bkissin: Oh geez... yours looks a lot more "encyclopedic" than mine so I'd recommend keeping yours at least in format. I think that for consistency's sake we should avoid abbreviations in the table (given PEI's alternate names for some systems - "PV" vs "IRV", etc.) and instead write out the full choice as it appeared on the ballot including the notation after FPTP. RA0808 talkcontribs 02:09, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
Thank you so much! For what it's worth, I thought yours looked good too! I definitely agree about changing the abbreviations, I just don't want it to take up too much space on the page. I'll get started on it now. Thanks for being so flexible! Bkissin (talk) 02:21, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
@Bkissin: It's for the greater good (the greater good), so I can swallow my pride. I'll remove my commented out table now as well. RA0808 talkcontribs 02:23, 8 November 2016 (UTC)

I noticed you undid the work I did on The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. I would like to know why? Considering what I put is actually true what occurred in the game. — Preceding unsigned comment added by King Of Castle's (talkcontribs) 00:02, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

@King Of Castle's: I undid the edit because it didn't seem like necessary detail to describe the scene in fine detail for a simple plot summary, and seemed to be borderline WP:GAMECRUFT. RA0808 talkcontribs 00:20, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Nettech Ltd

Hello RA0808,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Nettech Ltd for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. JackTracker (talk) 17:17, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

@JackTracker: Hey Jack, just a heads up that while I am technically the page creator (after fixing an article hijack) the true "creator" is Maqs1231. RA0808 talkcontribs 19:01, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

Im not sure why you persist in removing information relating to my title. I can show you legal documents relating to my inheritance but not sure why I should. I have a number of titles, all verifiable as well as my academic qualifications. Appreciate if you would contact me before removing information. Dr Steven Jones Drstevejones (talk) 00:51, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

@Drstevejones: The article was tagged for proposed deletion (PROD) on 6 November because there was no evidence to back up any statement made, and a cursory internet search returned no sources. There was ample time provided to contest the PROD and you were notified. If you will be recreating the article please consult Wikipedia's policy on verifiability (especially as it concerns burden of proof). You may also wish to consult the Wikipedia Teahouse to learn more about Wikipedia policy. RA0808 talkcontribs 01:03, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

Food Distribution

Hello,

I am new to Wikipedia. How can add to the old Food distribution page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ABrock20 (talkcontribs) 20:15, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

@ABrock20: Simply click the edit button at the top of the Food distribution page and add your new content in "around" the old, or replacing as necessary. RA0808 talkcontribs 20:17, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

Hello moderator,
I copied my text on to the old Food distribution page and updated it with original content. How can I delete the page I originally made? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ABrock20 (talkcontribs) 22:08, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
@ABrock20: By no means am I a moderator, administrator, etc! Just your average Wiki editor maintaining the project. Anyway, to delete your old page just delete all the text on it and replace it with {{db-g7}}. RA0808 talkcontribs 23:36, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

We As Human wiki page edit

Good afternoon. Thank you so much for your quick response to my edit. I appreciate you monitoring wiki so closely and adding to the accuracy of these articles.

My revisions were as follows: 1 - I noticed the reference link for the article stating that the lead singer had an affair was not available and linked to a dead blog so, I wanted to remove it since it has been challenged as to the accuracy of that claim 2 - The articles about "As We Ascend" seemed unrelated to We As Human and served no relevant addition to the "life and times" of We As Human 3 - Justin Forshaw and Jake Jones never wrote songs for We As Human or contributed much more than being road musicians for the band, so I believe this article would serve it's readers better if the content enumerating the exploits of the two former road guitar players be omitted.

I was one of the original contributors to this We As Human Wiki page and I have a lot of respect for the process undertaken just to get this band (We As Human) on Wikipedia to begin with, so I appreciate your efforts in the perpetuation of it's accuracy.

Sincerely, Jake — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.46.207.98 (talk) 20:25, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi Jake, and thank you for articulating your concerns rather than continuing to remove the content leading to more warnings. Allow me to address your points:
1) The reference link for Cordle's affair was dead, but the page is available from the Internet Archive here. Wikipedia's policy on dead links is to tag them as dead before deleting them, because the information may still be out there on the web (I have added the archive link to the article now). As for the veracity of the source, Cordle himself states in fairly clear terms that his affair was the reason for breaking the band up.
2) I agree that As We Ascend is not necessarily notable, and will likely remove that.
3) Do you have sources to back up those claims about Forshaw and Jones being "only" road musicians? There seems to have been consensus regarding their inclusion on the page previously.
Hope this addresses your concerns. RA0808 talkcontribs 20:37, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

redacted header

So I am told not to edit pages in a way that violates a neutral point of view yet the misandrist comments on the misandry page are still up. If the same would not be tolerated for a misogyny page entry, how could you possibly tolerate them on a misandry page. You truly believe that men don't have issues and suffer too? Why does there have to be an entry in the misandry page saying "male concerns don't matetr since they distract from female concerns." All the men that have lost children, had male relatives kill themselves, are more likely to die on the job and still acceptable targets for domestic violence would find this offensive and misandrist at a core level. Why can't the misandry page simply be about hatred of men instead of trying to derail it to issues other than what men face?

If this is a really a place for a neutral point of view then the misandry page shouldn't attempt to make men feel worse by saying their issues are a distraction from feminism and that misogyny is worse.

I will gladly cease editing if that misandrist spiel is removed from the page.

What about that contribution is not factual or in line with the misandry displayed in the previous entry?

Or are you saying wikipedia hates men and wishes to say misogyny is worse than misandry instead of both forms of sexism being wrong? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:30A:2C92:E6A0:518E:4D8B:46BA:8B0D (talk) 20:44, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

The article in question is incredibly neutral (noting historical roots, concepts of male disposability, etc.) given the politically-charged nature of its subject matter, your edits were removed for unsourced expressions of your personal opinion. There is no content on the page that alleges male concerns don't matter, the "assymetry" section are discussing how the concept of misandry has been historically used to attack to feminist arguments against misogyny and are well-cited. Just as the misogyny article has a section discussing criticism of the concept, so does this article. If you persist on adding your personal opinion to articles it will continue to be treated as disruptive editing and may lead to a block.
Further, do not accuse an editor of anything based on their edits (political affiliation, support or opposition to ideas/events/concepts). Comment on content and not the contributor. So as an example, that header for this section is not appropriate. RA0808 talkcontribs 20:59, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
Fair enough. I see the offending text: "
That the topic of misandry has been raised as a distraction from and critique of feminism and that is harmful because it serves as a distraction from the more important discussion of women's issues.
Also, misandry has been presented as a false symmetry to misogyny, but it isn't because misogyny is more extensive, historically oppressive, etc..
Finally misandry may be a misnomer for what is either A) a justifiable response to male oppression or B) a critique not of men, but of masculinity.
" has been replaced with more balanced quotes attributing the idea to thinkers. Consider my annoyed invective to be irrelevant seeing that the article now seems balanced again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:30A:2C92:E6A0:518E:4D8B:46BA:8B0D (talk) 21:04, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

Re: Florida State University International Programs

Hello, I saw that you redirected this page to FSU's main page, and I understand why as the article was still in its early stages. However, I would like the Florida State University International Programs to not be redirected to the Florida State University page. I would like to add historical and factual information about FSU's International Programs such as when FSU began their International Programs to the Florida State University's International Programs page. Other information included on this article would be when the study centers were established, and the current cities that offer programs. I will not be promoting this program, as I do not intend to discuss financing a program or specific courses offered by the program. I do wish to make a list of the international program destinations, but these cities will link to their respective wikipedia pages should one exist. Any information about the International Programs as a whole and their study centers will contain historical information such as when they were founded, and the city they are located in. There will be no discussion of amenities or courses offered by the FSU International Program or their study centers as that would be promotional, and the core of this page would be to offer history and facts. User group: New Page Reviewr

Hello RA0808/Archives2016.

Based on the patrols you made of new pages during a qualifying period in 2016, your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed.

New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:34, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

@JohnTheofilaktidis: When reviewing the article, I don't find a credible claim to significance thus it falls under CSD A7. Specifically I do not find a claim that, were it sourced, would make the subject of the article notable. Your use of the word "us" leads me to ask... are you in any way affiliated to this organization? RA0808 talkcontribs 02:58, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter

Hello RA0808/Archives2016,

Breaking the back of the backlog
We now have 805 New Page Reviewers! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog. Now it's time for action.

Mid July to 01 Oct 2016

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Second set of eyes

Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.

Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey: Please vote

With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Please help also by improving or commenting on our Wishlist entry at the Community Wishlist Survey. Many other important user suggestions are listed at at Page Curation.

@Ralph lewitt: The page was deleted for meeting section G11 of the Criteria for Speedy Deletion, it was seen as exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to conform with Wikipedia policy. Please see Wikipedia's policies on neutral point of view and the Manual of Style. If you are looking to recreate the article you can request that the text be recovered and moved to a draft by going to WP:REFUND. I would recommend that if you are looking to recreate this article you should go through the Articles for Creation process, where you can get input from other users.
