Removing messages from your talk page

edit

Hi Thewikizoomer, I notice you are in the habit of removing messages from your own talk page, but claiming these are being archived somewhere. If so, where? Your archive page is missing and you don't appear to be saving your talk page messages publicly anywhere else. I assume by removing these messages that you have read and understood them, and these messages removal confirms your understanding. If you are just removing these messages, please say so in your edit summaries. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 22:01, 17 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Cameron Dewe: My best guess is that the automatic archiving is new but that thus far Thewikizoomer has been removing the posts rather than waiting for them to archive. The last message they removed did not include an edit summary; however, the blanking of many posts just before that had the edit summary "archive from now", which I suspect meant after that blanking messages would be archived. What their ultimate intentions are with respect to archiving vs. blanking is a mystery.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:22, 17 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Bbb23: Auto-archiving was set up on 8 August 2024, with a 90 day archive period and 5 thread remaining on the talk page. However, if the threads are removed they won't be archived. If the user is impatient to archive messages then they should shorten the archive period, (which is expressed in hours), and reduce the number of threads to remain on the talk page. Perhaps the user does not understand that blanking the page does not permit messages on the page to be archived. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 23:02, 17 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
