TSS Duke of Lancaster (1955)

Hello, I'm Blue Riband. Thank your for your efforts at TSS Duke of Lancaster (1955). Being a new editor at Wikipedia can be overwhelming because there is a lot to learn. I want you to know why some of your edits had been reverted by another editor, and why I tagged your citations about the concrete barges as "Better Source Needed".

When we add information to an article we're expected to cite a reliable source (WP:RS) to back up that information. What exactly is a "reliable source"? In general it's one that has a good reputation for 1) fact-checking and 2) editorial oversight. Blog are not generally reliable sources because they are self-published by somebody who may - or may not - have any expertise in that field. Nobody is providing any editorial oversight. Another editor removed your text that had cited the The Sun. That's because The Sun has a poor reputation for reliable reporting (WP:THESUN). Here is a long list of sources that editors often use, and you'll see that while some are considered reliable others are considered so bad that they can't be used at all: WP:RSP. (I'd like to make an update on the Romandisea Titanic article but the latest news was in the The Sun and Daily Mirror - two unreliable tabloids.
