From Proto-Sino-Tibetan *zril (worm); cognate with Tibetan སྲིལ (sril, silkworm), Japhug qandʐe (earthworm), Burmese တီ (ti, earthworm) (STEDT; Paul, 1972; Schuessler, 2007; Zhang, Jacques and Lai, 2019). See also (OC *lin, *linʔ), (OC *djanʔ).
