Cognate with Northern Thai ᨾᩨ, Lao ມື (mư̄), ᦙᦹ (mue), Tai Dam ꪣꪳ, Tai Dón ꪝꪳ, Shan မိုဝ်း (múe), Aiton မိုဝ် (müw), Ahom 𑜉𑜢𑜤𑜈𑜫 (müw), Zhuang mwz, Saek มื๊อ, Tày mừ. Compare Sui myal (hand), Proto-Be *məːᴬ², Proto-Hlai *C-mɯː (hand) (whence mɯɰ¹~mɯɰ⁴ across the different lects), Proto-Austronesian *qalima (hand).
