Grant Application

Abstract

We suggest a solution for validator key management that protects the validator against attacks who try to cause slashable behaviour.

Checklist

this proposal answers paritytech/substrate#4689

with the follwoing remarks:

  • our solution targets on-premise Intel HW (although cloud-SGX would be possible)
  • Our grant proposal doesn't (yet) include modifying the substrate client stated in this issue
  • VRF could be a low hanging fruit, but isn't (yet) part of our proposal
