Personal Finance Data Analysis Tool

This is a personal finance data analysis tool built using Python version 3.7. The tool allows users to upload a CSV file of their financial data and explore it through a web interface.

How to use the tool

  1. Clone the repository to your local machine.
  2. Ensure that you have Python version 3.7 or higher installed on your machine.
  3. Install the required packages by running pip install -r requirements.txt.
  4. Run the application by executing python index.py.
  5. Click the url generated in the terminal.
  6. Click the "Upload CSV" button and select the CSV file containing your financial data.
  7. Click the "Analytics" button to process the data and explore it on the next page.
  8. If you do not have your own CSV balance sheet to upload, you can still explore the tool by clicking on the "Analytics" button without uploading a file. This will load a test data set to demonstrate how the application works.
  • Note: There is a tool for generating test data in the tools folder

Features

The personal finance data analysis tool provides the following features:

  • Upload a CSV file containing financial data.
  • View a summary of the uploaded data, including total income, total expenses, and savings.
  • Generate a selection of charts depending on selected filters.
  • Filter by amounts, dates, incoming, and outgoing.
  • Export charts and tables.

Dependencies

The tool requires the following Python packages:

  • Pandas
  • Plotly
  • Dash

These packages are listed in the requirements.txt file and can be installed using pip.
