IHE-Europe Experience Two Day Conference - Update

We are delighted to announce that the registration for the IHE-Europe Experience Days on 26-27 September is OPEN. Early bird discounts are available here until 26 May.

The IHE-Europe Experience Days Conference will take place 26 and 27 September, in Rennes, France. As in previous years the programme is truly international and this year is in collaboration with the ANS (Agence du Numérique en Santé) and IHE-France.

The 2023 theme “Transforming Healthcare through Interoperability: Towards secure, structured and comprehensive data sharing in Health Data Spaces”, means that this informative and engaging experience is a MUST if you are interested or involved in healthcare interoperability. It is a key component of the IHE-Europe Connectathon Week and it pays to be at the cutting edge of what is happening.

Whilst the programme is still being finalised and some speakers are still to be confirmed, IHE-Europe has released the block session details for each day including both the plenary Keynote Topics and the concurrent breakout sessions. There is a really exciting mix of subject matter some totally new and many building on the very successful 2022 Joint IHE Experience Day in Montreux, see the presentations
here. Keep on top of programme announcements by frequently checking here.

Day 1 (Tuesday 26 September) includes a morning Keynote Digital eHealth presentation from France as 2023 host country and an afternoon Keynote featuring the Global Digital Health Partnership (GDHP).
The morning sessions follow on from the very successful 2022 Joint IHE Experience Day looking at Real Interoperability Implementation of IHE Solutions in European Countries, like Switzerland, Greece and the Czech Republic and International implementations in the USA, Canada and Saudi Arabia. Expert speakers will highlight what has worked, what has not and what can be learned from their respective countries.
The afternoon sessions follow the same pattern but looking at Global Interoperability Implementations with special contributions from the WHO (tbc), Latin America, Asia and The eHealth Africa Association.
Additionally, there will be a Panel Discussion on Strategic Aspects around The International Patient Summary (IPS).
Day 1 will close with VIP Tours of the IHE-Europe Connectathon Floor, then a social opportunity of a Rennes City Tour followed by a Networking Dinner, further details to be announced as soon as available.

Day 2 (Wednesday 27 September) opens with a Multi Country Presentation (speed networking) and features a morning Keynote presentation from the European Commission, details to be announced soon.
Two pre-lunch blocks look at the European Health Data Space (EHDS) Regulations and European Projects that include the Regulations, plus an in-depth presentation of the EHDS Regulations and an interactive opportunity to question Interoperability Experts.
The morning concludes with a block session, looking at Interoperability in Other Domains – Public Administrations, Businesses and Citizens, considering Smart Cities,
ISA2 and Digital Social Protection. How do they differ and what can we learn from their experiences?
The afternoon session includes two blocks considering In-depth technical aspects and in particular looking at Radiology specification in France, Laboratory Reports from X-eHealth & FHIR, IPS and usage of IPS.
With the final block considering specific countries including Netherlands, Austria etc. punctuated by a Panel Discussion
Following the Closing Remarks there will be further VIP Tour opportunities to the IHE-Europe Connectathon Floor.

Call for Vendors to come forward to enable more Testable IHE Profiles

The IHE-Europe Connectathon is the place where all vendors meet to test the interoperability of their systems. This year again, we are testing a wide variety of IHE Profiles, as ever following a rigorous process.

The first weeks of the IHE-Europe Connectathon registration period have been very busy for the organisers with dozens of systems confirming their attendance to the event. Hence a good number of IHE Profiles have already gathered enough participants to enable efficient testing in September. Another significant batch of profiles are still missing a few systems to be fully efficient. Having a healthy number of vendors for each profile testing means more comprehensive interoperability in the market place - essential to ensure implementations are successful, when comes the time in actual hospital environments; so it is to every vendor’s benefit to maximise testing at the Connectathon.

Do not miss this opportunity to improve the quality of your system/solution and join us as part of the IHE-Europe Connectathon. Have the IHE Profiles you want to test not been selected by enough other vendors yet? We recommend you to add them to your system registration anyway, you might raise the interest of potential newcomers as well as of those who are already registered.

The full list of IHE Profiles requiring additional vendor participation can be found
here. We urge all vendors to take a look and support those profiles needing additional uptake. Please provide your feedback to technical.manager@ihe-europe.net

  • What are the key benefits of EEHRxF for patients, healthcare providers, and the healthcare system as a whole?
  • What are the key challenges that need to be addressed to ensure the successful implementation and adoption of EEHRxF?
