IHE-Europe Connectathon Week 25-29 September, Rennes, France

Since the recent announcement of the IHE-Europe 2023 Connectathon in Rennes, the organising committee has been hard at work processing registrations and dealing with enquiries about this important interoperability event. Interest has been very high amongst vendors keen to test their products in the structured environment that is the IHE Connectathon, especially given the significant discounts introduced this year not only for first-time participating vendors but also those vendors supporting some specific Actor/Profile combinations, for returning vendors who have skipped the last few years, for early bird registrations and for IHE-Europe Member organisations.
Full details of the discounts can be found on the IHE-Europe Connectathon website
here.

The specific focus on the International Patient Summary (IPS) and AI in Radiology Profiles has been significant and already attracted a number of first-time vendors and several others who are returning to participate for the first time since the 2017 IHE-Europe Connectathon.
Vendors are urged to progress registrations soon as the significant early bird discount expires at the end of March 2023!

The IHE-Europe Experience Days

The IHE-Europe Experience Days represent a unique conference in Europe that brings together decision makers and experts that drive the establishment of nation-wide and international interoperability.
This event provides the perfect opportunity to learn about concrete IHE-based healthcare interoperability initiatives across the different levels of collaboration at the local, European, and international level that support millions of patients and thousands of professionals today. On top, attendees will be offered the chance to appreciate the quality of the peer-group testing performed at the IHE-Europe Connectathon and the parallel French National eHealth Agency (ANS) Projectathon.
This year’s programme will focus on the transformation of Healthcare through Interoperability with more than 10 national eHealth programmes represented, diverse regions across Europe as well as the European Commission (EC) and World Health Organization (WHO).
During these two days IHE-Europe brings together healthcare professionals, IT vendors and other stakeholders that  provide a unique pool of knowledge and experience, within which you will find answers to your questions regarding interoperability challenges.

XpanDH EU Project Inaugural Meeting
IHE-Europe was very excited to participate in the inaugural XpanDH Consortium meeting held 15-16 February at the ISCTE University in Lisbon, Portugal.

The goal of the XpanDH project is to encourage and empower individuals and organisations to develop, customise and explore the practical use of interoperable digital health solutions based on the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF). This project aligns with the European Health Data Space's objective of unlocking the full potential of health data in Europe; it will focus on utilising an established grouping of networks and a vibrant ecosystem to support the adoption of the EEHRxF.

The XpanDH project aims to involve all relevant end-users, including patients, care providers, and healthcare professionals, in the implementation and dissemination of the EEHRxF through participatory engagement. The Consortium leading the project is committed to ensuring the necessary flexibility and openness to work on adoption domains, explore the needs of the users and co-create tools and guidelines.
The Lisbon University Institute ISCTE provided excellent organisation and the XpanDH partners made an invaluable contribution to the success of the inaugural Consortium meeting. For more information click
