Hello, we edit conflicted at SRP#Mykola7@ukwikivoyage. I decided to assign the permissions, as the RfA was running for at least a week, but after I extended the bit, I saw you put it on hold. I didn't intend to override you – I just didn't see that at all before taking an action.

I personally don't see an issue with prolonging one or two days in advance, but I don't have any issue with reverting myself and re-deciding tomorrow if you think that's better.

Меня заблокировали в русском викисловаре за злоупотребление несколькими учетными записями. Но злоупотребления не было. Когда я создал новую учетку, я указал в ней свои старые и перестал ими пользоваться. Других нарушений у меня нет. Я обращался к заблокировавшему меня администратору здесь User talk:Bookvaedina#Making signs, здесь User talk:Bookvaedina#Я в ужасе и здесь User talk:Bookvaedina#Консенсус, так как не могу писать в русском викисловаре. Результата нет. Question on how things work here

Good day, Ruslik, I am a user from the German wikipedia and I'm currently doing research on a user account which may have erraneously received a global ban.

On Aug 22, 2018 a request was placed on the Steward request page on Aug 22, 2018 by German admin Schniggendiller [1] to impose a global ban, among others, on the account "Franziska Bracharz" due to this account allegedly being a sock puppet of an account which was banned globally earlier. You worked on the request the next day. However, an user who claimed to be Franziska Brachart requested yesterday to bei unbanned. I found that the original account had never done a single edit, and the account name is also not typical für the sock puppets of the account which was banned earlier on [2] . So maybe an error was made here, and that's what I'm doing research on.

My request is not for you to remove the ban since I'm not authorised to do so. My question is: Is it true that if a request is made to award a global ban to an account which is alleged to be a sock puppet of an account with an earlier global ban no proof is required to be forwarded to the stewards that the account in question really is a sock puppet of that account and that you are not required to research whether this is actually true?

With Avoided socks I always user checkuser tool to verify that that the account in question is at least consistent with being a sock of Avoided. So, I think an error is unlikely. In addition it is strange that a user who made no edits whatsoever requested an unblock 4 years later. It is much simpler to create a new account. Ruslik (talk) 20:31, 2 October 2022 (UTC)

@Maxl did you read my statement at de:WP:Sperrprüfung/Archiv/2022/September#Benutzer:Franziska Bracharz (erl.)? Franziska Bracharz created a couple of new user accounts [3][4] which are clearly Avoided sockpuppets. Looking at these account creations, there is no doubt – even without CU evidence – about Franziska Bracharz being Avoided.

Answering your question about CU: The account has not made a single edit, but every log entry can be used by checkusers to compare CU data with publicly known IPs of Avoided and of course with previous CU data (e.g. by looking at CU logs or CU wiki) Johannnes89 (talk) 07:24, 3 October 2022 (UTC)

@User:Johannes89: Yes, of course I read the whole of your fist link. That's what got me doing a lot of research on the accout of Franziska Bracharz because most of the links in the discussions were not consistent with the comments in the text. Your link for example simply shows whe Admin Jivee Blue banned Franziska Bracharz. The "Tschechenböller" accounts he banned at the same time were, however, not registered at the same time. Franziska Bracharz was registered on August 3, 10 days earlier while the other accounts Jivee blue banned at the same time wwere banned immediately after having been registered. Also, I found that the account "Franziska Bracharz" is an untypical name for the accounts Avoided used to register. Also, the account had not made any edits at all which would mean that there is no way of comparing the "diction" of the account with Avoided's, as one of the commentators said - there is none. [5] Also, one of the commentators said that the global ban was done due to "Avoided" on meta.wikimedia. Thereofore I ventured here and found the above mentioned request of Schniggendiller which told me that the path lead back to the German wikipedia. I also found the discussion regarding the global ban of Avoided. I wanted some more information on procedures and therefore I asked User:Rusliko who had executed the ban (I didn't ask you, by the way; how did you find this discussion?) and who already told me that he did a CU (though none appears to have done on the German Wikipedia; I checked the CU logs (three large parts) for Avoided and didn't find "Franziska Bracharz" in them, nor did I find a CUA for her in special) As you may have read above, Ruslik told me he made a CU before banning "Franziska Brecharz" globally. So you see, my question to Ruslik was simply part of a big research on this case. The CU question was to be me final one since I was unsure whether a CU could still be consistent 5 years after the ban of the original account due to dynamic IPs. After that I would have considered the matter closed. Your interference was unnecessary. (and sorry, @User:Rusliko, for "spamming" your discussion page. I thought I should explain to Johannes89 in depth why I asked you in the first place since he could not know what research I had done before contacting you.) --Maxl (talk) 11:06, 3 October 2022 (UTC)

How did I find this discussion: As you can see from my contribution list, I'm quite active on Meta. Since I'm fighting (crosswiki) vandalism, I put all user talk pages of stewards & admins on my watchlist. --Johannnes89 (talk) 21:11, 3 October 2022 (UTC)
