Ia mempunyai penduduk sekitar 30,000 orang, yang mana 5,000 orang tinggal dalam kawasan benteng kota.[2] Moto dalam bahasa Latinnya adalah "Non bene pro toto libertas venditur auro ", yang bermaksud "Liberty is not well sold for all the gold".[3]
