Description
Hüftgelenk-Prothese
Hip joint prosthesis
The invention relates to a hip joint prosthesis.
In the known hip joint prostheses, the joint ball replacing the femoral head is anchored in the femoral shaft. In contrast, the hip joint prosthesis according to the invention differs in that it has a joint ball intended to replace the femoral head and a joint socket which interacts with the ball and is intended to be anchored in the thigh shaft.
The joint ball can be mounted so that it can move freely between the joint socket to be anchored in the thigh shaft and a further joint socket to be anchored in the pelvic socket for the femoral head.
The joint ball can be made of plastic and the joint socket or the joint sockets can be made of metal.
An exemplary embodiment of the hip joint prosthesis according to the invention is described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing. It shows:
Fig. 1 is a view of the three-part hip joint prosthesis before installation,
FIG. 2 shows a schematic representation of the installed prosthesis according to FIG. 1.
According to Fig. 1, the hip joint prosthesis consists of a plastic ball 10 and two joint sockets 11 and 12. The joint socket 11 is intended to be anchored in the pelvis 13 instead of the pelvic socket for the femoral head, while the joint socket 12 is intended to be in the femoral shaft 14 to be anchored.
To anchor the socket 11 in the correspondingly hollowed-out area of the pelvis 13, the socket 11 has a notched bulge 16 at the top, while the socket 12 has a spike 17 to anchor the socket 12 in the correspondingly hollowed-out femoral shaft from which the femoral head has been removed having. This mandrel 17 can, for. B. have an approximately rectangular cross section with two outwardly cambered side surfaces.
The two joint sockets 11 and 12 are preferably made of stainless steel or Vitallium. For the joint ball 10, a plastic can preferably be used which has a low coefficient of friction, so that no lubrication problems occur (for example high molecular weight polyethylene).
A methyl methacrylate preparation can preferably be used to anchor the two joint sockets 11 and 12. In FIG. 2, such a methacrylate jacket for anchoring the mandrel 17 of the joint socket 12 is indicated by a dotted line 18 in the shaft of the femur. The corresponding anchoring of the joint socket 11 in the pelvis 13 is indicated in FIG. 2 by a dotted area 19 which represents a section through the cement compound used for anchoring. In order to avoid loosening of the joint socket 11 in the pelvis 13, hemispherical recesses 20 are provided in the pelvic bone.
The total hip joint prosthesis described has the following advantages. The ball can rotate with every movement of the leg and is therefore not always claimed in the same place, as z. B. is the case with each transverse leg head. If the free joint ball is damaged, it can be replaced with great ease.
Various changes can be made to the hip joint prosthesis described; so z. B. the joint ball can be anchored directly in place of the pelvic socket for the femoral head in the pelvis.
