The invention relates to an all-weather vision system for helicopters using a radar device with a synthetic aperture on the base rotating antennas according to the preamble of claim 1.
A system with a real aperture radar is known from US Pat. No. 3,896,446, whose antennas are placed in the center; and from US 4,924,229 it is known to provide SAR systems with a navigation system. For RO These embodiments are not suitable for SAR conceptions.
Die empfangenen Signale werden demoduliert und zwischen gespeichert und anschließend mit Referenzfunktionen korreliert.DE 39 22 086 C1 from the applicant is a radar device (ROSAR device) become known in which at least one antenna for transmission and reception conditions of radar pulses at the end of a rotating arm, for example a helicopter rotor or a turnstile above the rotor axis, is arranged. The received signals are demodulated and between saved and then correlated with reference functions.
Such a radar device can be used in real time in online operation and after special modifications not only for landing aid, but also be used for target clarification and target pursuit.
This system described above now also becomes an all-weather vision system To expand, is still unknown and should solve the task at good vertical resolution the lateral resolution of an all-weather vision system to increase and to enable optimal flight guidance according to a radar image lichen.
The general idea of the invention is an all-weather vision system to show the information of a radar sensor based on ROSAR Information from the on-board navigation and flight guidance systems to combine and display an artificial view for the pilot, the radar taking advantage of the rotating movements of rotating arms.
Fig. 2 shows the system structure of the all-weather vision system for helicopters with various expansion options. The central component is the radar sensor with the connected radar processor / image processor / Hinnis processor, in which the flight guidance information generated by the navigation computer / symbol generator is superimposed on the radar image and the obstacle display. This complex picture is then displayed on a cockpit display. The data generated by precision gyroscopes and acceleration sensors for motion compensation can be used simultaneously in the navigation computer to calculate the position. An optional radar altimeter complements the barometric altitude measurement and increases safety for the approach. An autopilot system increases pilot comfort for cross-country flights. Such a system could also be combined with the navigation computer and the obstacle processor so that the autopilot initiates suitable evasive maneuvers in the event of an immediate obstacle to the helicopter. Conventional radio navigation systems are connected to the navigation computer for flight under instrument flight conditions. Additional position accuracy for route and landing approaches can be achieved by integrating a satellite navigation system (GPA, Differential GPS or Relational GPS). Another useful addition to the all-weather viewing system is a digital map system with street and airfield maps.
As illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 3, the antenna support arms of the radar system described below are arranged on the rotor head in such a way that, depending on the number of rotor blades, they lie in half at the corresponding angle between the rotor blades. Here, these arms can be positioned in one or in pairs in several superimposed levels, as illustrated in FIG. 4. The arms (for example turnstile) themselves each contain at their ends one or more radially oriented radar antennas which are aerodynamically shaped or are provided with an aerodynamic covering body ( FIGS. 5 and 6).
In the end faces of the antenna support arms - as outlined in FIG. 1 - one or more pairs of transmit and receive antennas with different elevation orientations are integrated. As a result, the Elevationsauf solution can be adapted to the particular needs or purposes of the radar system.
The transmitter and receiver electronics of the radar are now partially in the rotating antenna support arms integrated and partially in a mitro electronics room housing - the center of the rotor axis of the Helicopter is - installed. Preferably in this central The voltage-stabilized power supply is also integrated in the room.
Now it is known that when ROSAR signal processing is not an ideal circular path with constant angular velocity, who can, because the antenna arm tips have deviations that should not be underestimated during a revolution. Therefore, in the present all-weather system, as outlined in FIG. 2, acceleration sensors are preferably arranged near the antennas, which detect the relative deviations from the circular path and provide them for the movement compensation.
Hohlleiter elektrisch erfolgen. The receiving electronics, which is preferably arranged in the center above the rotor head, prepares the received radar signals as IF signals, which are transmitted through the rotor shaft - as outlined in FIG. 1 - with the help of a rotary coupler into the non-rotating part of the helicopter and the digital radar processor. This data transmission can take place optically via optical fibers or electrically via coaxial cables or waveguides.
The forward speed of the helicopter must also be considered view and this is a continuous speed measurement required, which is used for motion compensation. Therefor either a high-precision inertial navigation unit is required or an evaluation unit for satellite navigation data or even better an autonomous Doppler evaluation of the transmitted radar signal.
Another component for motion compensation is the exact and exact position of the plane of rotation of the antenna support arms required. The exact values for this are either via the normal navigation circle supplied with the helicopter, or via a special one in the rotor head center of precision placed.
The radar information processed or prepared in this way is stored as photo-like images on a screen in the cockpit of the helicopter brought to representation and view. You can also go through a pro projected onto the inside surface of the cockpit windshield or be shown on a helmet-mounted display. For the Generating the image representation, the sub-images of the antennas with un different elevation angles linked and smoothed, with important details for the composition of the overall picture the over provide the range information obtained from the radar echo. Naturally applies here: the more precise this distance information is, the more accurate he can construct the overall picture and the better it is preserved all weather system. It should also be mentioned that problem also an overlay of the pictures with other symbols for the flight leadership etc. is possible.
