Device for attaching a cloth or similar to a wiper or similar.

The invention aims to create a device for the quick and easily removable attachment of a cloth or the like to a wiper or the like.

When cleaning dirty surfaces, especially floors, the cleaning solution or the detergent at the end of the work process must be removed. This is usually done using a cloth or similar that is placed over a mop or similar and then moved over the surface to be cleaned.

The term cloth or similar stands for absorbent materials such as wipes, drying leather, plastic cloths and the like, the term wiper or similar for hand-held cleaning devices such as wipers, scrubbers and stick brushes.

Up to now, the cloth or similar has generally been laid loosely over the mop or similar, which is then moved over the surface to be cleaned. It is inevitable that the loose connection between the cloth or similar and the mop or similar, which only works through friction, is often lost, especially when cleaning floor areas that are not visible, such as under benches or under counters in department stores. Picking up the cloth or similar and restoring the loose connection to the mop or similar requires physical effort and, when the individual lost times are added up, results in a significant loss of time during a working period.

According to the inventor’s knowledge, all professional cleaning companies also use this state of the art when cleaning floors when spatial constraints, caused e.g. by furniture, shelves and other furnishings, prohibit the use of cleaning machines.

The device according to the invention enables a quick attachment of the cloth or the like to the wiper or the like, which can be quickly released, for example, to wring out the cloth or the like and then quickly reattached.

The cloth or similar can be attached, for example, using an articulated, spring-loaded bracket which clamps the cloth or similar to the wiper or similar when an articulated lever connected to it is actuated. Another example of a type of attachment is a screw mechanism, preferably with a coarse thread.

An example solution is illustrated in the drawings:

Fig. 1 shows on the left in a side view and on the right in a front view a wiper or similar (1) with its handle for handling (2) in the state before the cloth or similar is attached, i.e. in the released state of the fastening mechanism, which consists of the articulated spring bracket (3) and the articulated lever (4) connected to it. As shown, the surface of the wiper or similar can be provided with grooves (5) or other abutments for the durable attachment of the cloth or similar.

Fig. 2 shows the wiper or similar (1) after the cloth or similar [6] has been attached, on the left in a side view and on the right in a front view. The articulated spring bracket (3) holds the cloth or similar captive after the articulated lever (4) has been operated. The fact that the articulated lever is only locked in place after it has passed its dead center - in the example by the handle waving as a counter-bearing for handling - additionally secures the attachment of the cloth or similar against loosening.
