Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for automatically triggering a rinsing process with water, especially for flushing urinals, toilets and Wash basins, preferably in commercial and public facilities, with an electrical one arranged in the water supply line Generator driving water turbine for generating electrical energy for the Supply of an electronic control and evaluation unit for controlling an in the water supply line, electrically operated shut-off valve, wherein the electrical energy stored and the state of charge of the storage is monitored in order to ensure a minimum charge level Trigger the flushing process to charge the energy store.
For a flushing process, especially for flushing urinals, toilets and Trigger wash basins in commercial and public facilities, it is known to have an electrically actuated shut-off valve in the water supply line to order that for hygienic reasons not by a Hand contact of the user, but contactless with the help of an electronic Control unit is operated. As a pulse generator for the electronic control unit Either light barriers or reflex infrared detectors are used.
The main problem with these electronic control units is the energy supply. A supply with mains voltage presupposes that an electrical Mains connection is installed. The installation of such network connections However, requires a lot of work and costs, because in addition to plumbers also electricians for the assembly of the complex in individual cases and complicated electrical installations have to.
In order to reduce this effort, it is also known from EP-A-0 433 631 known to use batteries or accumulators for power supply are supplied with the energy generated by the water turbine. The The state of charge of this energy storage device is monitored to ensure that it falls below one minimal state of charge, a rinsing process for charging the energy store trigger. Despite advances in battery and accumulator technology, in the battery or the accumulator are changed at regular intervals. In addition to the associated material costs for the battery or the accumulator high costs arise for the related technical Service. Because batteries and accumulators are often not disposed of in an environmentally neutral manner an environmental problem arises at the same time. This problem is exacerbated if particularly long-lasting batteries or accumulators are used, containing lithium, mercury or cadmium. As for a change suitable flaps or openings for the battery or the accumulator must be provided is increased by these visible installations experience has shown that there is a risk of vandalism, i.e. the wanton destruction of such facilities.
The invention has for its object to develop the above-described method for automatically triggering a rinsing process such that the electrically actuated shut-off valve in the water supply line can be controlled by means of a control and evaluation unit without a mains power supply and without the use of batteries or accumulators.
The solution to this problem by the invention is characterized in that the electrical energy generated by the generator is stored in a storage capacitor, the charging voltage is monitored by the electronic control and evaluation unit, that the shut-off valve automatically for an adjustable by the electronic control and evaluation unit Opening time is opened as soon as the charging voltage falls below a predeterminable minimum value and that the voltage rise in the storage capacitor is monitored by the electronic control and evaluation unit after each opening of the shut-off valve and the shut-off valve is kept open if there is no voltage rise in the storage capacitor.
Because storage capacitors are used in a very short time and practically indefinitely can be charged and discharged and an extraordinarily large Have lifetime, does not apply to the use of a Storage capacitor for storing the electrical generated by the generator Energy the need for a periodic change of energy storage like when using batteries or accumulators. They also provide capacitors no disposal problem. By monitoring the Charging voltage of the storage capacitor using the electronic control and Evaluation unit and through the automatic opening of the shut-off valve when falling below a predefinable minimum value for the charging voltage is ensured that the energy stored in the storage capacitor even for the Triggering an upcoming rinsing process is available when over no user flushing for a relatively long period of time was triggered. Because water turbine, generator and storage capacitor like this can be interpreted that a rinsing process of about 30 seconds is sufficient to the Covering electricity requirements for at least 24 hours results when not in use just one additional rinse per day. Such an additional flush is always an advantage if the odor trap of the urinal, the Toilet or wash basin should be maintained. Since the electronic control and evaluation unit the voltage rise in Storage capacitor is monitored every time the shut-off valve is opened and that Shut-off valve if there is no voltage rise in the storage capacitor is kept open, takes place when water is absent and therefore does not occur Charging the storage capacitor keeping the shut-off valve open. This results in the system being shut down without external access, for example by simply shutting off the water for a longer period Not used or to prevent the risk of freezing. At the same time achieved that over the water turbine and the generator driven by it The storage capacitor is charged immediately as soon as again Water is available. In the event that the storage capacitor is defective should be triggered, the flushing process is not triggered and thus does not open the shut-off valve. This remains with a defective storage capacitor closed.
In an alternative solution to the task set out above by the invention, the electrical energy generated by the generator is also stored in a storage capacitor and the shut-off valve through the electronic control and evaluation unit periodically after a adjustable period of time for an adjustable opening time, where again by the electronic control and evaluation unit of the Voltage rise in the storage capacitor after each opening of the shut-off valve monitors and the shut-off valve if there is no voltage rise in the Storage capacitor is kept open.
In this alternative embodiment, the monitoring of the charging voltage is omitted of the storage capacitor by the control and evaluation unit and is by a timer in the control and evaluation unit is replaced periodically The shut-off valve opens for an adjustable period of time, for one again adjustable opening time, so that even with this configuration it is ensured that for periods of prolonged non-use of the system Storage capacitor stored electrical energy at any time for triggering an upcoming rinsing process is sufficient.
In both configurations, there is the essential advantage that Installations recognizable from the outside are eliminated, so that the risk of Vandalism significantly reduced.
The odor trap of the urinal, the toilet or the sink too always in the case of monitoring the charging voltage of the storage capacitor Keep functional, according to another feature of the invention for proposed the first alternative of the method according to the invention, regardless of the opening of the. caused by monitoring the charging voltage Shut-off valve the shut-off valve periodically after an adjustable Open time span for an adjustable opening time. This will ensured that even at higher temperatures leading to faster Evaporation of the water in the odor trap, the odor trap is always kept functional.
Finally, for a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is proposed that the use-induced triggering process for opening the shut-off valve by monitoring the change in temperature over time in one Trigger odor trap. The trigger is independent of the respective base temperature, since not the size of the temperature change, but the rate of temperature change, i.e. the temperature change over the Time for triggering the rinsing process is used regardless of the direction of the temperature change. A rinsing process will therefore always triggered when there is something in the odor trap Water either briefly warms up or cools down, for example by emptying it of dirty water into the urinal, toilet or sink.
With the invention, the permanent maintenance of the functionality of the electronic control for triggering a rinsing process guaranteed and maintain the effect of the odor trap at the same time as long as the System is ready by waiting for the necessary water pressure, and independent of regular use. Even in the event of one temporary decommissioning, for example to eliminate the Danger of freezing, the functionality remains intact without access to the electronic control and evaluation unit or the storage condensate.

The diagram of FIG. 2 shows the voltage curve for normal rinsing processes S 1 to S 6 with solid lines.
In the alternative embodiment, the shut-off valve 5 is opened by the electronic control and

By means of the electronic control and
