Delivery of articles stored in piles. - In a machine of the kind in which articles are delivered by a recessed drum, an ejecting device arranged in the recess ejects the article when the drum is oscillated. As shown, a drum 5, Fig. 5, mounted on trunnions 6, 7 below the magazine 2 is formed with a diametral opening 12 on which is pivoted a tray 14 which supports the lowest article 3 and has a depending portion 16. When the drum is moved, by a handle 18, to delivery position, the portion 16 engages a lug 53 and rocks the tray to eject the article. In a modification, Fig. 9, the drum 5 has a diametral slot 55 at each side of which is fitted a lug 56 to support the article 3. A link 58 pivoted at 59 in a recess 57 in the drum carries a projection 65 and is guided by a pin and slot 61, 60. When the drum is oscillated, the link 58 is raised and the projection 65 enters the slot 55, ejecting the article. A spring 62 returns the link and drum to inoperative position. According to the Provisional Specification, the tray may consist of a counterweighted pivoted plate, or, in the modified form, the link may operate a block slidable in the diametral slot. The pawl is normally held just clear of the notch by a screw 20', but engages it on initial oscillation of the drum. The shaft 22 extends behind the drum and carries at its other end a finger 30, Fig. 8. Coins, two in the case shown, fall from a shoot 29 edgewise into a pivoted carrier 25. When the drum is oscillated, a cam 24 on the trunnion 6 engages and rocks the carrier 25, so that the upper coin 51 engages the finger 30 and rocks the shaft 22, holding the pawl 21 clear of the notch 20<2>. The coins are released when the carrier clears a plate 28. A second notch 20<3> in the wheel 20 prevents partial return of the drum and fraudulent abstraction of an article. A plate 54 at the upper end of the carrier 25 prevents jamming of the machine should a coin be inserted while the carrier is out of the vertical position. The machine is provided with a coinselector device of known form. Coin-slit closing-devices.-When the magazine is nearly empty, the arm 44 of a bell-crank lever 46.
