A grid for a packed column, e.g. a liquid-gas contact column, comprises non-metallic tabular elements of circular or non-circular crosssection assembled securely together to form a honeycomb structure. The elements, which are of the same length, may be of glass and may be fused together with their axes parallel. A easing, e.g. of glass, may surround the elements and the elements may be fused thereto.
