従来、ISO7810の規格に準じた大きさのクレジットカード、キャッシュカード等の磁気カードが多く利用され、さらにセキュリティを高め、多目的に使用可能な同サイズのICカードが色々提案されている。また、近年では、携帯電話器に利用されるSIM(加入者識別モジーュール)カードのようなサイズの小さいプラグイン型ICカードが利用されるようになってきた。プラグイン型ICカードは、従来のクレジットカード等と同じ大きさのカード状プラスチックにミシン目を付けて取り付けられ、これをカードから切り離して携帯電話器等にセットすることにより利用される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
このように、従来のプラグイン型ICカードはプラスチック板から一旦取り外すと、サイズが小さいため携帯性に難点があり、一旦切り離したものを再度プラスチック板に取り付けるには、粘着テープ等を使用しなければならない。また、プラグイン型ICカードは基本的に接触式でしか利用できず、非接触式ICカードとして利用することはできなかった。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、プラグイン型ICカードを保持するカード状アダプタであって、アンテナ用コイルを内蔵するとともに、プラグイン型ICカードを収納する収納部を備え、前記収納部底面にプラグイン型ICカードの端子と接触するアンテナ端子が形成され、プラグイン型ICカードの端子面が前記収納部の底面側になるように挿入された時、ICカードの端子とアンテナ端子が接続されて非接触式カードとして機能し、プラグイン型ICカードの端子面が前記収納部の表面側になるように挿入された時、接触式カードとして機能するように構成したことを特徴とする。
また、本発明は、前記収納部がアダプタの内部に形成され、その開口部にプラグイン型ICカードを保持するための天板をアンテナ端子が隠れないように形成したことを特徴とする。
また、本発明は、前記収納部がアダプタの側端部に開口部を有し、前記開口部からプラグイン型ICカードが挿入可能であることを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を図面を参照しつつ説明する。
図1は本発明のプラグイン型ICカード用アダプタの一実施例を説明する平面図、図2は斜視図である。
アダプタ10はISO7810の規格に準じた大きさ、厚さを持ち、通常のクレジットカード等と同じ形状のものである。アダプタ10には、SIMカードと同サイズ、同形状のプラグイン型ICカード20を収納するための収納部11が形成されている。収納部11は上面が開口し、その一部に収納空間12を覆うように天板13が形成されている。また、アダプタ10は非接触式リーダ/ライター(図示せず)との通信に必要な13.56MHz用アンテナコイル14(ISO1443に準拠)が内蔵され、そのアンテナ端子15が収納部11の底面に天板13で隠れない位置に設けられている。

図4は本発明の他の実施例のアダプタを説明する平面図、図5は斜視図、図6は要部断面図である。本実施例のプラグイン型ICカード用アダプタ30の構成は基本的には図1〜図3に示したものと同じであるが、プラグイン型ICカードを収納する収納部31がアダプタ側端部に設けられて側端面にも開口している点が異なっている。もちろん、収納部の上面は接触式でも使用できるように少なくともICカードの接触端子41が露出する程度には開口させておく。ICカードの挿入は、側端面の開口からスライド式に収納する。
