Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate misrecognition in the recognition device of paper money, and to improve recognition rate. CONSTITUTION:The number of revolution of a motor 4, that is, the moving distance of the paper money is obtained by fitting a blade 10 and a sensor 11 to the motor 4 of the recognition part of the paper money of the paper money recognition device. A constant A/D value can be obtained by making the distance pulse as a basis, and the discrimination of the paper money can be executed more correctly.

2. Description of the Related Art In a conventional bill validator, a bill is identified based on the time it takes for the bill to pass through an identification unit by utilizing the difference in length depending on the type of bill.
FIG. 1 is a diagram of a conventional identification unit, but one banknote passes through the time detection sensor 2 and the A / D sensor 3 and the transit time and the A / D value are detected. However, in this method, when the speed of the motor 4 changes due to fluctuations in voltage, the time for which the bill passes through the time detection sensor also changes, so the A / D value obtained based on this passage time is also accurate. That is why it is not possible to obtain a proper value. FIG. 2 is a diagram of A / D values based on time, but when the banknote passage time of 7 extends or contracts to a dotted line portion or a shaded portion, 8 A / D values
The time axis of the value waveform extends and contracts in the direction of the arrow. For that reason,
An accurate value could not be obtained, leading to a decrease in accuracy.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] In the method based on the passage time of the bill identifying portion, the passage time of the bill also fluctuates when the motor is affected by the fluctuation of the voltage.
That is, the recognition rate of banknotes decreases.

EXAMPLE FIG. 3 is a diagram of a motor rotating system. In order to detect the distance, a blade and a sensor are attached after the motor. At the time when the bill passes through the identification section, the blade of 10 rotates with the motor of 4 and the pulse input sensor of 11 counts the pulses. FIG. 4 is a diagram of the pulse input unit.

FIG. 5 is a diagram of the identification unit of the present invention. The amount of near infrared rays transmitted through the banknote is individually checked by the A / D sensor 3 to measure the inclination of a certain section (position) and the distance between characteristic points.

The additional bill distance 1 is divided into eight, and the section is divided into one.
It is set to 1 , 1, 2 and 18, and the class distribution of the A / D values in each section is taken, the maximum value, the minimum value, the average value, and the mode value (level and number) are calculated, and the threshold value is used for determination. The threshold value is experimentally collected with some banknotes. (Teaching)

After the end of scanning, the length is checked, and if the lengths match each denomination, the class distribution data of the denomination is checked. If the length is within the threshold value, the A / D of 3 is finally given. The feature point data obtained by the sensor is checked. If this is within the threshold value, the determination is OK, and the others are NG. The threshold value of each denomination improves the recognition rate of genuine bills with three groups and the rejection rate of counterfeit bills, depending on the degree of contamination.

As described above, the present invention was developed by paying attention to the fact that the moving distance does not change even if the time for which a bill passes through the identification portion changes, and as a result, it is used as a reference. The constant distance pulse means that the A / D value is also constant. That is, regardless of the passage time, the A / D value at the reference position of the bill is always constant as shown in FIG. According to the present invention, bills can be identified more reliably.
