To all lwhom t concern?, f y 1 VBe it known that I, EDWARD MoCLnnn, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Chicago, Cook County, and State of lli-- Vmarginal edge portions of open metal-Work, f
such for instance, as Wire mesh-vvork,` rod- Work, grills, gratings, guards and the like. Another one of the objects is vto provide a frame-Which may be easily andquickly appliedto the metal open-Work and positively securedthereto. Another object is lto provide a border frame vvhichinay be secured to the metal-Work Without the necessity'of bending or crimping` the ends of the Wires, .rods or other elements that `comprise the open metal-work afterthe frame members `have been assembled Withthe Open metalf Work.V vWith these land other objectsand advantages in view, this-invention consists in theV severalnovel features ,hereinafter fully set( forth and particularly defined kin Vthe claims. f y The invention is clearly illustrated in the drawing accompanying this Vspecification in which zl Fig. 1 is a facevievv of a Wire mesh panel containing a border frame constructed in accordance with the present invention; F ig. 2 is ,a perspectivelview of a fragment of the panel; Fig. 3 isa facevievv of a fragment of the panel With certain locking bars fragment of one of the' locking bars Which forms one part of the frame; Fig. 5. is a perspectiveof a fragment of `a notched bar which forms anotherpart of the 'frame and slightly modified form ofthe invention.

The llocking bai-e113 are somewhat in the form of `channel bars and are formed With flanges 17, 171, 4alongtheir two? edges, which flanges are adapted to embrace` the notched edge port-ion andthe `other edge portion of the `tvvo flanges or Websr of thegbar that lcomprisesthej four sidesof the `frame member 1,2. The parts are Yso proportioned that the locking bars 13 may be slippedlendwise alongd the four sides of the, frame Vmember 12 and at the `corners of said fra-me member, notches 18 are formed in theedgesof the notched Webs to permit theflanges 17 of the locking` bars to pass,vvher'eby the locking bars may bejslid upon Athe VVframe members.
l Thelocking bars be securednpon the frame' member 12 in "various Ways and in Fig. 1,1 have shown" the top locking bar f and the upperends of .the upright locking bars as formed With' mitred ends,'the lower endsof the side locking bars being vformed VWith square Aends andthe lower locking bar extendingbe'tvveen the extreme outer sides ofthe panel WithV its end portions extending across theA ends ofthe upright locking bars.
.By securing the lov'ver, locking bar` to the loo framel all ofLthe'locking bars are thereby k20 Iriay beV like locking bar interlocked with said notched bar and having bead like flanges that overlap the opposite edge portions of the notched bar, one bead like edge portion overlapping the notches of the bar.
