Sol Bamba

Souleymane Bamba (13 January 1985 – 31 August 2024), known as Sol Bamba, was an Ivorian-French professional football player and manager. He played as a centre-back. Bamba was born in Ivry-sur-Seine, France. Bamba played for the Ivory Coast national team from 2008 to 2014. He also played for Paris Saint-Germain F.C. from 1996 to 2004.

In 2021, he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and began undergoing chemotherapy treatment.[1] On 30 August 2024, Bamba was hospitalized in Manisa, Turkey. He died at the age of 39 the following day.[2][3]
