Neoniphon pencei Copus, Pyle & Earle, 2015

  • Holotype: BPBM 41197.
  • Paratypes: BPBM 41196 (10); CAS 237596 (1); USNM 431482 (1).

Type locality: Rarotonga, Cook Islands, east side, Matavera, off Charles J. Boyle's house, depth 115 meters.

Etymology: Named for David F. Pence, Dive Safety Officer for the University of Hawai'i, a member of the deep diving team that discovered this species, in recognition of his efforts to collect the type specimens.
