this was so much better than the first book and Tristian Caine HOLY OMG HE SO ADORABLE WITH HER IT'S SO CUTE LSAJDLJSDF
(view spoiler)[ although i will not lie, i wished the author made it more clear about how luna ended up because we still don't know if she's alive or dead or anything and a small part of me wished that tristian would say the i love you back to morana. he's still progressing to say his words to her (and morana was so so patient with him i love her sm) and he defo shows how much he loves her but at the epilogue with his pov in it, HE KNEW HE LOVED HER BUT AHHHH I JUST WISHED ONE DAY HE WOULD SAY IT TO HER. but, it is so clear he is absolutely in love with her and this is one of the rare books where i felt as if both loved each other equally rather than the guy loving the girl more or vice versa. i loved tristian and morana so much, i don't think i can let go of this series now...more
someone needs to get me a rowan ASAP for christmas, it's a need at this point. the writing style wa4.75 stars
i am so in love with this book right now.
someone needs to get me a rowan ASAP for christmas, it's a need at this point. the writing style was so beautiful and enchanting like, it flowed so nicely and none of the words or the writing felt stiff and awkward. it was just so good.
the romance was to die-for, like being enemies at the start, the annoyance and the rivalry between them was immaculate!! me literally jumping around every few chapters throughout the whole book was insane and the dual pov?? hello??? my fav tropes all being dumped in one go was the best feeling ever.
"If she wasn't so exhausted and stiff from the harrowing encounter they had miraculously survived, she would have knocked away his touch. She would have slapped him. She might have kissed him."
THE QUOTES. THEIR DYNAMIC. THEIR INNER MONOLOGUES AND WHAT THEY SAY TO EACH OTHER
it was everything.
i loved the whole world building and being able to actually see iris' life progress steadily and i feel like it was the plot being able to get more more and intense and unknown and so pact together, it was written so good. with the whole war going on as well, i couldn't predict who was about to die and who was not, because war itself is unpredictable.
the romance between roman and iris was so well written, with them hating each other but then realising that slowly, they were really just falling in love. also, the things that this mad did to protect iris and save her is unbelievable. like, i was shocked. (view spoiler)[ him literally crawling even though he's bleeding and about to die, all he could think about was to get to iris and being the one to take the impact from the grenade so she would be safe, he was exactly insane. insanely in love with her. (hide spoiler)]
although the romance between them was great, i slightly felt like it was a bit forced in the middle? like, they were just hating each other and then suddenly because they didn't see each other for a while and then seeing each other again after that time period, suddenly they're like: oh my, i feel a little differently about you? i didn't mind but i felt like the connection between turning into lovers from enemies felt a bit pushy and forced, not like a smooth transition.
overall though, this was book was amazing. the PLOT!!! AND THE PLOT TWIST AT THE END OHMYGOD in need of the next book right now ...more

I AM IN LOOOOOVE.
This is one of the most heartbreaking, and lots of tissues involved but still so romantic book I have ever read in my life. It's so raw and painful but so beautifully written, goddammit I will literally give anything to have an Archer in my life. This book isn't just a simple story of a two people, it's about finding to love each other while healing and having to speak up for yourself.
I picked this book up when I saw it coming up on BookTok for a couple times so I took it as my chance - fate, more like it - to give 'Archer's Voice' a try. And honestly, I do not regret one bit reading it. Even though I have my exams coming up and I may or may not have spent most of my time curled up in bed, reading it in one go.
Fair warning, this book will make you feel very single.
"Sometimes an understanding silence was better than a bunch of meaningless words."
I don't want to summarise this book without spoiling the book itself so lemme just repeat the synopsis the author has written because it's the best.
When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.
Archer's Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.
"You brought the silence, The most beautiful sound I'd ever heard, Because it was where you were. "
Bree is left traumatised after the terrible incident that happened to her. But she's brave and never stood down her ground and that's one of the most admiring quality about her that I loved. And the fact that she wasn't like the other town people and saw the beauty beneath Archer and gave him a chance to see the world was so understanding of her. I love her with all my heart and the love she has for Archer is *chef's kiss*.
"I stand by my logic though. I think love is a concept, and each person has an individual word for what sums it up for them. My word for love is Bree"
My baby Archer is one of the things I loved about this book, he was misunderstood by everyone and the baby steps he took to realise what love felt like and to love himself as well, it made me so proud. He might have a long beard and hair that desperately needs a cut, he was so beautifully well written and so, so heartwarming. He might be vulnerable, shy and I loved him to pieces . Why is it so hard to find someone like Archer in life?
"Someday … when we're old and gray, I'm going to look at you lying in bed beside me, just like this, and I'm going to look into your eyes and know that it's only ever been you. And that is going to be the great joy of my life."
The pace of the book was immaculate and it didn't go fast or too slow, it was perfect. The writing was so beautifully written and even though I balled my eyes out in this book it was all worth it. I look like a roasted toad right now but Archer and Bree were worth my tears and throwing my book all the way across the room dying of cuteness.
Overall, I recommend this book 100%, sometimes it's okay to trust Booktok once in your life. You won't regret 'Archer's Voice' walking into your life....more
