This book tells the story of a tree from seed through decomposition in a way that is easy to understand with a simple story and captivating illustrations. What I love about this book is that it shows just how interconnected all living things are and that we effect more than we know.

You can really get a grasp on her feelings this way which adds to the book immensely. Was the book the best I have ever read? No. Do I love Molly and was she a favorite of mine growing up watching SNL? Absolutely. I never knew anything about her background and was sort of shocked. Molly's personality really stands out in this book and she is just as free, wild, and herself as I thought she would be. Also, how can I be her friend?

I was looking for something different and thought I should give it a try! I only really know of Minka Kelly because of her role on the Friday Night Lights television show and never really followed her career. This book dives less into her career and more into her difficult childhood of growing up with a single mom with various addictions. Minka definitely did not have a stable childhood and she reflects on the fact that the emotional and mental trauma of her early years really affected her relationships in her adulthood. Although I did skim through the last ¼ of the book, I did enjoy it.

Growing up, Maia always struggled with eir gender identity, feeling eir gender couldn't be defined within "normal" standards. This is eir story of discovery, through some difficult and defining experiences. I love that this book exists. It is soo important that Maia's experience and challenges are out there for others to discover. There are so many individuals who could relate to Maia's experiences. Reading about them in a book can help another person feel more comfortable in their skin, feeling more loved and accepted in our challenging world.

It's a graphic memoir about Kindra's experience during a school shooting and the years after dealing with the trauma. It does touch on attempted suicide and the PTSD of experiencing a horrific event. But also, it shows Kindra's journey of cooping through art, finding new friends, and telling her story. This was a selection for a teen book club, and the participants brought up the great fact that the colors used in the art really reflect the emotions of that scene. Keep an eye out for that! A great quick--but impactful--read.

This book does not disappoint. I listened to the audiobook and could visualize the abyss just by Susan's exact descriptions. I found this book to be mostly informational and partly a dire warning of what our world would look like if we allow our oceans to be expoited. Incredibly fascinating, you will dive head first into this incredible world that Susan displays in this book.

What she did sounds exactly what I would try to do if my kitty disappeared and came back like nothing happened. I, too, would question if my cat loved me enough. The writing was quick and witty and I did cry a little. But it was a great, quick read - perfect for those obsessed with their cats.

I have never heard of RecipeTin Eats but sure am glad that I found her...and her dog! I knew I would love her when she included a two-page spread on her dog. The recipes are well thought out, easy to execute, and include QR codes that will take you to actual videos of her making the recipes. It was fun to leaf through and see the range of food offered in the book. The pictures were downright mouthwatering too! My family and I are looking forward to trying lots of her recipes.

Of course I'm going to read it (and love it). In all seriousness, this non-fiction piece is a wonderful love letter to chickens. A professional journalist, Danovich has done her research and her writing shows it. I learned so much about the world of chicken-raising (the good, bad and ugly) and I thought there wasn't anything new to learn. One word of warning: most of this book is about how wonderful chickens are and the lovely people who raise them, but the author does touch on the cruel reality of the poultry market. It may hurt your heart a bit.

I particularly loved listening to this book on audio as Tom himself narrates it. His views on life and acceptance of talking openly about his mental health are refreshing. I thought I would like him, and now I know that I do! Oh, and you do get some insights onto the inner workings of the Harry Potter films!

Learn about Dan's experience between middle and high school through a foreign exchange trip he took to Europe. It is through this trip that Dan begins to learn about himself, identify his feelings, and find his awkward first love. If you have ever been 13, then you will relate to this book on multiple levels. He artfully and truthfully captures what it is like in middle school experiencing all of the confusing feels. I remember being just as awkward at the same age. Having been a foreign exchange student myself in high school, his experiences abroad were extremely relatable. I definitely recommend this book!
