Why is it when I search for the best headphones I get brands like audio-Technica and Phillips but when I specify “gaming“ headphones I get stuff like steel series and hyperX. I’ve heard some say it’s just marketing but I’ve noticed that when you ask for headphone recommendations in a gaming subreddit vs in a general audio/music one you get different answers as well.

While I am doing some gaming on my PC I was also planning to use it to watch anime and listen to music so I’m wondering if getting good “gaming“ audio means sacrificing audio for other use cases. Or does it not really make any difference?

So i change from gtx 960 i5 6500 samsung old tv 24 60hz to 7800x3d 4070 super Dell G2722HS IPS Gaming Monitor 27" FHD 1920x1080 165Hz

My problem is new pc monitor have really bad quality on videos on youtube or twitch especially on 720p or lower same happend at images , i didnt have this problem at my old pc monitor i had better quality on youtube and twitch.

At games is really nice i can see the difference from my old monitor but is annoying to see pixels when i watch videos

I wonder if any change to monitor or nvidia settings can fix it or i need to buy new monitor, i bought this monitor fast because i wanted to use my new pc so i didnt search much

He unboxed the computer and it was a refurbished Dell workstation... 2nd gen i7 2600. He was excited as hell at first until we tried to install Premiere Pro. The processor wasn't supported. I found an old compatible version of Premiere and let him play around with it for a while and soon enough he was asking for help.

I have to say Amazon resellers do a terrific job at misleading specs for aspring enthusiasts - "Intel i7, 2TB storage, 16gb ram". We had a discussion of DDR generations, PCIE speeds from 2011, processor generations (thanks to some helpful links and vids from you guys), and spinning platter hard drives vs M.2 capability.

It became pretty apparent the Dell was about as useful as a Chromebook. After he realized it wasn't worth upgrading I offered to piece together a new rig. Had him work for chores and offered to match his savings dollar to dollar.. he ended up saving around $800 so we had about $1600 to work with.

Best part of the experience was shopping for parts and teaching him how to find deals thanks to Slickdeals and . Almost every part we purchased was on sale in some form. Through that process he learned a ton about specs, speeds, brands, compatibility, etc. The shopping experience ended up teaching him as much about computers vs the building experience.

So I have a HP Victus 15L (I'll drop my specs below). I'm wanting to at somepoint switch my GPU to possibly a 4060 Ti/4060 or a RX 6700XT, I was wondering whether it would be a good idea to switch CPU's too. I'm fairly new to having a PC (the one I have is only a year old) but I have just recently been looking to upgrade it. My budget for a GPU is like £250 -£300, and I don't have a budget for a CPU yet as I'm not sure if I need to upgrade it.

I also want to mention that I am not looking to go crazy on components as I only use my PC to play video games and watch films and stuff like that. I play 'Tom Clancy's rainbow six siege', 'GTA 5', 'Fortnite' and some story games like 'God of War'.

My current specs are :

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics, 3900Mhz, 6 Core(s)

RAM - 16GB

Current rig is a 5800X, B550 ITX. I play a lot of CPU bound games. The uplift from a 3D variant would be more than a 30% performance increase

I have: -MSI B450 GAMING PLUS MAX -Ryzen 5 3600 -RX 5600 XT -650W -1080p 144hz -32gigs 3200hz 16cl

Put this thing together about 4 years ago. Idea was that I'd eventually upgrade once, to 1440p, before eventually replacing everything. Feels like that time to upgrade is coming now; I play a lot poorly optimized, CPU heavy games like Squad, Squad44, which run universally like trash, Dwarf Fortress, other simmy shit; newer games sometimes struggle in general too.

I was thinking of R5 3600 -> either R7 5700X3D or 5800X3D now;

and then after a few months buy a new 1440p 144hz monitor and a new(er) gpu,

while leaving the mobo, ram, psu, hard drives and running that "final" setup into the ground.

Only concern I have is if the 650w psu would cut it; dont really want to upgrade that too.

CPU good? Any good suggestions for a matching GPU? And any othet unforseen issues or things to consider?

I've moved all my components to another case (minus an HDD that had a few files on it, NOT the OS), however now my PC is serving me "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" on boot.

BIOS recognises the 500gb SSD that my OS is installed on in the boot order menu (and I've set it as priority 1 of 3), however it isn't booting the OS. Said SSD is occupying SATA port 4.

Can anyone advise on how to fix? Does the SATA port chosen matter (should I plug into 3 instead?)? Could removing the HDD have disrupted things even though it didn't have any OS files on it?

For more context, I have 2x m.2 drives installed (neither with any OS installed) and am running on a MSI MPG Z390M GAMING EDGE AC Micro ATX mobo.

Really hoping I don't have to do a clean install of Windows as I've long lost my product key :'( I've had no issues prior to this, changing the case just seems to have disrupted the boot order.

The backlight bleeding seems to be really bad with this monitor. I am looking for similar monitor that prioritizes general use over gaming (I mean that I rather have better colors than good ms for example)

im currently using evga p106-100 using vga cable due to monitor only have vga and dvi dual link while my mother board port only vga and hdmi, when im using igpu and 650 ti it work fine but when i put evga p106-100 using vga cable it show "no source signal" can somone help ? already tried with another pc it was normal

Hello, I've been wanting to upgrade my GPU for a while.
I do video editing for a living (I want to upgrade my GPU to save myself time when working). Sometimes I edit 4k videos. I use Premiere pro and a little bit of After Effects for rotobrushing.

I'm curious if getting a 4070 ti super would be overkill.

I want better rendering speeds and to improve the smoothness of playing back media while editing.
I'm also curious whether any of these cards tend to make video exports glitch out. Do the A770 cards still have driver issues?

I don't care much about gaming, everything that I want to play runs just fine on my current card.
I do understand that the 4070 Ti Super card would be better, however, is it worth paying a little over 2x for?

Hey everybody! I’m looking to get the 7800x3d bundle from micro center. They recently switched the mother booked from the Gigabyte b650 to the Tuf gaming b650. Unfortunately, I’ve done a decent bit of research and people are kind of losing it over the board. I know there has been controversy with Asus but I’ve had a Prime b450 ma for about 5 years now and never had a problem (yes I know it’s time to upgrade hence the post). In my mind most pc part brands have had their fair share of controversy. Not to mention there are also a good bit of very positive reviews on the board. Looking for a more educated person on the subject to share their opinions. Should I go ahead and seal the deal or steer clear? Thank you!

So I have an ITX build and decided that maybe it is time to upgrade. Since I was on older AMD platform, I thought I would see what good deals are available to upgrade my motherboard and then pick an processor that has nice but relatively affordable performance/thermal ration.

The sales person at microcenter advised that there is no reason to pick an MB that :

• Support latest processor gen out of the box

• support DDR4 since the difference in price is not worth the increase in performance.

So he offered me to pick :

The 2 SSDs slots in the motherboard were nice since I needed such a thing. My concerns that either I had spent money more than needed, or that I did not end up with best options:

1. I am not sure if this motherboard was the best option. I did not install the parts so I don't know if it actually supports 14 gen out of the box.

2. I don't know if I should lock myself out of DDR4 rams. I noticed that DDR5 is twice as expensive as DDR4.

3. I started thinking buying AMD ryzen 5X00 processors is probably a better option for now since I spend that much, and I can upgrade my ram to 32GB for 56 usd.

So, I’ve recently decided to upgrade to an rtx 4070 super from a 2070 super and I was installing it today. I made sure everything was in place and not half-way plugged in, but when I turned on my pc, the I got 1 long beep and 3 short beeps during the POST. When i looked up the code for this it seems to be a video card error.

I reseated the graphics card to no luck. Thankfully, when I reinstalled the 2070 super it worked fine and I’m wondering if perhaps my cpu or motherboard isnt compatible, or if something else is the problem.

This is the other hardware information:

650W power supply CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X Motherboard: TUF Gaming X570-plus 16 GB ram

A couple of months ago I got a new Motherboard, ram, and cpu. All was fine until 2 weeks ago where I noticed every time I put my computer into sleep and try to turning back on, the case fans run at max speed (like it usually does when I first start my pc) but instead of stopping after 3-5 seconds the fans stay on max speed and the display never switches on. I have to switch my pc off from the back to fix this. I'm really worried because this can be so many things, and I have no idea where to start with troubleshooting
