The report released on Monday shows from July of 2017 to June of 2019, 28 people used the state's physician-assisted death program to end their lives.
...Over the past two years, doctors have filled 34 prescriptions under the law. Of those cases, 24 patients had cancer, four had ALS and six had diseases like Parkinson's or similar conditions.
The state says of the 34 people who passed away, 28 died from a lethal prescription, five died from their underlying diseases and one person's cause of death is unknown.

The American Medical Association statement opposing assisted suicide says that legalizing assisted suicide causes more harm than good.

The right to die will quickly become the obligation to die. I personally know of a lady who is elderly and a niece "found" her last year. The lady was immediately put into a home due to "dementia" and the niece became her executor for her pretty significant estate, and is drawing money from it on a regular basis, much of it for personal items for herself.
Believe me, if this money could not be gotten with the lady alive, she would be in a line already for assisted suicide. That is my opinion. Anyone with two nickels is going to be harassed by "loved ones" who need the cash, not Grandma, who's dying anyway, let's just help her along. We want her to die with "dignity"! Dignity means you get your Grandma's estate sooner rather than later. These ghouls who push for assisted suicide can see all this will happen, they aren't stupid, but they are death ghouls for a reason.
My sister died of cancer 5 years ago, suffering yes, but giving it all to God to decide. The last thing I saw her do was receive Holy Communion from the priest who gave her Last Rites. Anyone who says she did not "die with dignity" has no idea what they're talking about.
