Build Identifier:
Currently only Name and Email are allowed to be displayed in the compose message contacts pane. For users with very large number of entries in the address book, it is very useful to allow more columns to be displayed in the compose message contacts pane for efficient selection of desired receivers.
As currently is implemented, by default Name would suffice, but please extent extra possible columns like Address with all currently visible columns off the address book.
Offering extra columns in this way will still limit the possible columns which can be shown (because of the limited space) but still allow users to have extra columns displayed to meet their own needs.

Bug 153502 for seamonkey.
For starters add Organisation as extra option, but in fact all the columns that are offered in the main view of the address book should be offered here too.

Could someone provide an mxr link to the file where we restrict the columns available from contacts sidebar's column picker?
I imagine it can't be very difficult to add all columns to the picker instead of just two.

This addon is doing the job too for the new message dialogue. However, this should be standard functionality in Thunderbird.

Is there any way to show the old-style contact window instead of sidebar?
Like this one?

Or any workaround to show the organization on the sidebar?

http://gsfn.us/t/cfui reports the same problem and mentions drag and drop from real address book into draft msg as a workaround for sorting, then adding addresses to the draft.
