Grand Trunk Western 5629 moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Grand Trunk Western 5629, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Please check your sources before adding things to the Class II list

I've had to revert almost all of your additions to List of U.S. Class II railroads because they are clearly Class III railroads (and I went and verified which are class IIIs, which you clearly did not do). Do not add companies that are not class II to the list. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 20:36, 20 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hey its me again. Do you know any trusted resources for CP 2839? I colaberated with another user to make an article about 2839 NorfolkandWesternBoi (talk) 16:29, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I know very little to nothing about 2839. However, if you ask a user more experienced than me, like User:Trains13, about 2839, I think he’ll tell you, considering he’s been getting information from magazines relevant to the Southern/Norfolk Southern Steam Program, as well as American steam locomotives in general. If he doesn’t know of 2839, try User:Trainsandotherthings. Someone who likes train writing (talk) 01:58, 21 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Great. Just look up these engines on Google, and then find whatever info on these engines you can and type them into the drafts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.169.64.51 (talk) 16:39, 25 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Information icon  Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Canadian National 6218. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:46, 21 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Why did you create a second article on the same topic? I'm going to ask if they can be history-merged. Liz Read! Talk! 01:47, 21 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

It said that the article was an orphan when I first posted it. I had the thought that I did it wrong and I wanted to try again NorfolkandWesternBoi (talk) 02:18, 21 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Another draft

Would you like to create a draft for Illinois Central 2613, and I could help you find sources and build it up? 23.169.64.51 (talk) 00:18, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

YES PLEASE!!! NorfolkandWesternBoi (talk) 00:30, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Great! I already finished adjusting the 6218 page with everything I know about the locomotive from the internet. So with that, I just figured you’d like some help with whatever other draft you’d like to come up with next. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.169.64.51 (talk) 00:48, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ayo! You haven’t edited any of the pages I have created like I requested you to, and yet, I have already held my end of the bargain by adding as much detailed info into the 6218 page as possible, in case you haven’t noticed. You haven’t even started an IC 2613 draft so I could build it up for you, either. Are you lazing around or something?! 23.169.64.51 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 04:31, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hey you haven't used any of the resources I provided for you and your articles. I dug deep into the internet to find these sources and you haven't used them yet. I looked into the drafts and you never added them. Dare I ask whats the hold up or something? NorfolkandWesternBoi (talk) 02:34, 7 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
You can’t expect me to work on Wikipedia every single day, because I have a job, and I’m in community college. That doesn’t mean I won’t ever work on these pages. No. I will add the sources and info to the pages, probably later today. It’s just that life gets in the way every now and then. IC 2613

@Someone who likes train writing @Trains13@Trainsandotherthings In Case anybody is intrested, I am creating an article for IC 2613 to keep up with my usual tradition for creating articles on both scrapped and unheard steam excursion stars. If anybody has any sources please let me know in this topic only. NorfolkandWesternBoi (talk) 14:24, 30 January 2023 (UTC) Draft:Illinois_Central_2613.Reply

I might look for as much info about this locomotive as I can. However you can’t expect every reliable source to even mention every single locomotive that ever existed. For instance, 2613 is actually so obscure that you can’t expect it to be mentioned in more than one magazine, book, newspaper, or online news article. Though, I could be wrong in 2613’s case. And besides, the reason I have added so much information to the pages on 5629 and 5632 is because one of the sources, A Passion for Steam, actually has a lot of information regarding both locomotives. I also found a magazine article that held so much info on C&NW 1385, I was able to take that as a reliable source and put that in 1385’s page. My point is, not every single steam locomotive that exists is going to have enough reliable sources to to have it’s own page. I’ve actually learned that the hard way, because I’ve created a long line of pages that talk about obscure steamers with very little to no reliable sources. Especially Duluth and Northeastern 29. Like I said, I could be wrong in 2613’s case. Maybe there were plenty of magazines and newspapers that mention that locomotive, so I might keep a lookout, just to be safe. Someone who likes train writing (talk) 15:57, 30 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Writing about steam locomotives isn't really my thing, sorry. Plenty of people doing that; I focus on railroads which are often neglected. I do have a few books relating to steam locomotives, but I very strongly doubt they'd say anything about this locomotive, unfortunately. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 17:22, 30 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
