Gerät zur EntspannungstherapieDevice for relaxation therapy
For the treatment of mental and psychosomatic illnesses, general nervousness and exhaustion, it is known to subject patients to an outpatient relaxation treatment. Such a method has been attempted, inter alia, in that with the aid of a recording device for brain waves, known in the technical field as a blectroencephalograph, the brain waves are transmitted to a stimulator, from which weak current pulses are made audible or visible in an amplified manner. The current pulses by said stimulus;., Act au'sgehen Jeber as a "feed back * 1 on the central nervous system and exert a relaxing effect A device for such a relaxation or sedation therapy using a Encephalographen is for the use in medical practice and not suitable for private use, as the acquisition costs for these cannot normally be raised.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a device for relaxation therapy of a much simpler technical structure, the cost of which is its use not just limited to clinics and institutes.
Als Abtast-To solve the problem of finding it is suggested that a Device for scanning human body functions via an inertia-free control and converting device with a to connect stimulators acting on the human sensory organs. With one of the aforementioned individual levels The existing overall device for relaxation therapy is a desired feedback system that acts on the human body created without a great technical effort is necessary. The acquisition costs for the inventive Device and so small that it is accessible to general practitioners and a large number of private interested parties is. The scanning device for scanning various body functions that are directly related to relaxation, e.g. breathing excursions of the chest or body, heart or pulse beats or muscle action (Spammnged der action currents) or blood pressure, is designed so that the recorded signals on electrical Paths can be passed on to the control unit. AIo A strain gauge of a known type can serve as a scanning device for breathing excursions. As a scanning

Device for heart or Pulaechlag, on the other hand, a microphone, a pad or a plethysmograph, a myograph for the muscles and a corresponding blood pressure meter can be used for the blood pressure. The signals picked up by the scanning device must be passed on to the stimulus generator via the transducer in the rhythm or the manipulated variable of the processes scanned by the organism, which can be carried out by means of a corresponding design of the control device. The stimulus generator can be designed in such a way that the intensity or the quality of the stimulus can be changed via the control device. Luminous elements, acoustic signal generators or electrical pulse generators can serve as stimuli. The change in the intensity of the stimulus consists, for example, in a decongestion with subsequent amplification, for example of the light, the acoustic signal or successive electrical impulses. The change in the quality oea stimulus, however, can exist in a change in the wavelength of light or sound frequency. The starting position, the amplitude of the control and the stimulus strength at the peak can be regulated independently of one another in the device according to the invention.

Derartige "Urnschaltungen*1 sind charakteristisch für eine Funktionsänderung in der vegetativen Steuerung des Gesamtorganismus, wie sie in der Hypnose, inBreathing out the patient, with the heartbeat, the manipulated variable of muscle tension or blood pressure, one of the aforementioned stimulators gives a correspondingly increasing and decreasing stimulus, or changes the quality of the stimulus. The consequence of this is that the organism reacts in response to the sensory stimulus to the eye, ear or skin, whether it is perceived as disturbing or pleasant. This happens in the form of a change in the function of the organism from which the control potential is derived, for example the breathing rhythm or one of the manipulated variables. This in turn has the result that the original rhythm or the manipulated variable is idert the sensory stimulus to the eye, ear or skin in his rhythm or its intensity ver r and this change again to the functional system of inhaling and exhaling, the heart rate, Acting on muscle tension or blood pressure. In this way, after the examinations, a new equilibrium gradually settles in a few minutes, for example with regard to the frequency of breathing and heart, the intensity of the stroke or the manipulated variables of muscle tension or blood pressure. This new rhythm or this new manipulated variable has a direct effect on the psycho-vegetative system of the organism, represented in the central switching centers of the interbrain and its peripheral success organs. Such "switching operations * 1 are characteristic of a change in function in the vegetative control of the entire organism, as is the case in hypnosis
