Abstract

1376543 Vibrators WACKER WERKE KG 7 April 1972 [8 April 1971] 16186/72 Heading F2X A vibrator for fastening to casings, vibratory tables or the like comprises a spherical mass 5 driven by compressed air around an annular track 4 within a housing 1, at least one end face of the housing 1 being connectible to an end face of a similar vibrator housing such that the axes of rotation of the masses 5 are coaxial The compressed air is fed into a main duct 7 and enters the track 4 through a branch duct 6, leaving through a branch duct 6<SP>1</SP>. In the embodiment shown, the housing 1 has a central opening 2 and is provided on the end face 1a with a projecting annular locating spigot 2a and on the end face 1b with an annular groove 2b. Accordingly, several vibrators can be interconnected by mating the spigot 2a on one vibrator in the groove 2b in an adjacent vibrator. Bolts extend through bores 3 regularly spaced around the central openings 2 of the housings 1. As shown in Fig. 3, vibrators are connected to opposite sides of a fastening element 8 which is formed integrally with or affixed to a casing. As many vibrators as are required to obtain the necessary moment of inertia are connected in this manner.
