It's not just a few tears rolling down the cheek cry. It's a full on ugly crying sobbing that sounds like my heart is being ripped out of my chest. I'm normally not a crier, so when this happens it just does me in for at least 2 days. Magic hour has done me in for the year. I wasn't so sure in the beginning because a few characters I wanted to throat punch because they were so annoying, but the character growth is amazing and so well written that by the end, those that you hated, you come to love....more

I'm not sure what was up with me that day, but I went ahead and bought it knowing that it was probably going to be pure vampire smut. Occasionally I don't mind reading something like this. So I had this sitting on my kindle for a bit until someone in one of my challenge groups picked this for me to read this month. It didn't disappoint in the smut department. It did disappoint in the "are you fucking serious" department. I can suspend belief just as well as the next person, but come on?? Spoilers in the next paragraph.
(view spoiler)[It started off with a bang. Bailey comes home to find her apartment full of sewage from the apartment upstairs. That's ok because she was on the run anyways and would be ditching the place because her crazy ex had once again found her. She makes her way to the bus station where she meets a vampire who out of the goodness of his heart protects her against a Djinn who is also after her. He then takes her home to Sanctuary with him (think Midnight, Texas). He immediately falls in love/lust with him and she with him. By day 2 they are doing the horizontal bop and he becomes her Sugar Vamp. There is a bit of back story in there about the town and residents who are all supernatural creatures of some kind, but that is a bit overshadowed by Bailey's issues and the constant boinking of her and her Sugar Vamp, Erick (Yes, Erick the Vampire and he's a Viking...Cuz..no one knows where an idea like that could come from). The ending is over so quickly that if you blink you will miss it. I should know because I missed it and had to go back and reread the page it happened on. (hide spoiler)]
This is perfect if you are looking for a short read filled with vampire smut....more
