I was quite literally hungry the entire time I was reading this and now I want to travel the world! No but seriously, Lizzy Dent did such a beautiful job in detailing every single bit of the setting. I could almost taste the pasta and feel the Tuscan sun on my face.
I wanted so badly to love Olive & Leo, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing and I struggled a bit to connect with them. I love a slow burn, but this form me was entirely too slow and the romance that we did get was a little lack luster. I definitely found myself skimming for dialogue quite a bit just waiting for something to happen. I did however really enjoy the friendship between Olive, Ginny, & Kate. The bater between them felt so genuine and their dynamic was very relatable.
With all that said, this book was good but it just didn't blow me away. I would recommend this to someone looking for an easy beach read or something to take on vacation.

It was so fluffy and funny, but also so meaningful.
The cheesy nerdy comments were everything, even though half of them went way over my head. I found Elsie to be such an incredibly relatable FMC who we follow as she deals with sexism, family dynamics, identity issues, and the need to people please. I loved all of the various representation within this book as well, from chronic illness to ace/aro spectrum representation.
The slow burn romance in this book was soo well done! I actually fell head over heels in love with Jack the MMC. I can’t wait to read more Ali Hazelwood!...more

Sawyer & Enzo’s story is dark, spicy, and a bit spooky scary. From the very beginning I couldn’t look away. I had to ask myself after almost every chapter “what the fuck is going on?”
There are definitely some heavy themes and topics discussed throughout this book, but Sawyer’s humor was actually impeccable and had me laughing out loud multiple times. Enzo was the epitome of morally gray who hated Sawyer just as much as he was obsessed with her.
Honestly the only thing I found lacking were the shark features, but the H.D. Carlton said check the epilogue!...more

I have fallen head over heels for this series and Lyla Sage's wrting. Something about it is just so easy and cozy yet oh so consuming. She does an incredible job of creating characters that are easy to love and relate to.
Ada and Wes might truly be my favorite couple. I related to both of them in so many different ways, and quickly became obsessed with thier story. Ada gives off that black cat energy and struggles with accepting love and friendship, while Wes is such a golden reteiever people pleaser with the biggest heart, but has struggles of his own centered around depression and seeking the approval of those he loves most.
I loved everything about this book, and this seires and I want nothing more than to have Teddy & Gus' story ASAP! Lyla Sage has definitely become an auto buy author for me, and I just cannot recommend this series enough.

Ok, I am officially a second chance romance gal & Elliot Bloom's grumpy sunshine attitude has my heart! The passion and romance in this book was everything I needed. There were so many angsty and heart-aching moments between Ama & Elliot, and I couldn't help but root for them to find their way back to each other from the very beginning.
I absolutely loved the dual POV dynamic that also spanned the past and present timelines. Elliot's chapters gave us the past timeline and recounted when they met and how their relationship fell apart. Ama's chapters gave us the present timeline and walked us though how they get reconnected. The way Julie Soto lays out both timelines was quite possibly my favorite aspect of the book.
Ama is extroverted & funny, and also quite scared of commitment while Elliot is quite possibly the sweetest grump ever! His grumpy yet protective and caring personality lands him a spot as one of my favorite book boyfriends. The ending for these two was absolutely perfect!...more

From the very 4.5⭐️- I wasn’t quite sure how to rate this, mostly because this fever dream of a book was unlike anything else I have ever read before!
From the very beginning I was immediately immersed in this story and needed to know what secrets Iris and her sisters were hiding! As the reader, you feel as though you are being placed in the middle of the story and have to slowly work your way through as little clues and key details all begin to build up! There were definitely some plot twists that I was able to guess at but it didn’t bother me because I wasn’t 100% confident in my guess until it actually played out within the story.
I was equally creeped out and intrigued by the magical aspect of this book and felt the author did an incredible job of drawing you in while also creeping you the hell out! Her writing style literally had me asking myself every chapter “what the hell is happening?!” Every bit of this story is beautifully and eerily detailed leaving me with the actual goosebumps along my arms. I enjoyed the ending but still wanted just a bit more from it....more

I wanted to like this book after having so much fun reading Serpent & Dove, but from the very beginning I was struggling to enjoy it and I just think it was entirely too long.
The entire first half of the book is incredibly slow with not much actually happening besides talking & Reid throwing hissy fits. Reid was absolutely an insufferable character throughout the entire book, and I understand he’s experienced some traumatic things, but nothing about him was likable for me and he’s literally the MMC/love interest. Lou’s sense of humor was the saving grace, but even her decisions throughout the book were questionable. If I wasn’t buddy reading this with friends I probably would have DNF’d.
The last 10 chapters or so were good and exciting and is probably what save this read for me, but they also felt slightly rushed.. hence this book could have been much shorter. The ending did draw me back in leaving me with a broken heart and so many questions, so here’s to hoping book 3 will be more satisfying!...more

The world building was very easy to grasp, and although the magic aspect felt somewhat minimal I was so intrigued the entire time.
I love a good Found Family trope, and this one was executed perfectly. I quickly grew so attached the the characters, especially Tipp. We must protect him at all costs! Although I really enjoyed the story, I would say that the pace does start off a little slow which felt very intentional. The ending actually had my jaw on the floor. I had previously guessed a few of the plot twists, but the ending I did not see coming in the slightest!
This felt like the perfect first book for a trilogy. It contained the right amount of setting and build up to hook you and have you running to grab the next one! I'm very excited to follow Kiva into the rest of this series....more

Stassi and Nate’s story is adorable as they very badly attempt to fight their attraction for one another. I actually really enjoyed the silly little games they played with each other and their flirty banter was so fun. I struggled mostly towards the end of the book to really vibe with Stassi’s character, and I absolutely wanted to run Aaron over with my car. Nate as well as all the other hockey boys on the other hand were such adorable and lovable characters and I couldn’t get enough of their friendship.
I enjoyed a lot of this book, but it just felt longer than it needed to be and multiple sections old have easily been removed without affecting the storyline at all. I found myself just skimming for dialogue the last 1/3 of the book just trying to get to the end.
I’m not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I was NOT a fan of the epilogue. It just felt a little bit basic and blatantly obvious. I am definitely intrigued to continue the series and see where some of the side characters end up!...more

4.5⭐️ - purely for the vibes and how giddy I felt the whole time! Truly, what’s not to love about this book? Enemies to lovers, forced proximity, small town, slow burn, and grumpy sunshine bull rider?! I didn’t even know Canadian cowboys were a thing, but SIGN ME UP!
This was the perfect book to kickstart my cowboy romance era! The slow burn tension between Summer and Rhett was everything I ever wanted. As individual characters they were both deep and complex and their love story was so perfectly paced.

packpackpack I love everything about this story, and this pack! I don't know how TJ Klune manages to create character after character who absolutely steal your heart, but I am here for it. In this book we get Gordo's POV, and finally get his and Mark's story from the very beginning. Their story is complex and beautiful and filled with heartbreak, love, and friendship, and family.
I loved the way that TJ Klune works in past and present together within this series. We get way more backstory and history on the Bennetts and Livingstones that filled in a lot of blanks for the reader and also gave more understanding to some characters.
I really have no notes for this book... it was epic and awesome. TJ Klune has become one of my favorite authors over the last year. His writing style is extraordinary, and heartwarming. I laughed, I cried, and felt all the feels. Immediately starting the next book!...more

I think I actually loved the characters and their growth/development more than in B&B, but at times I felt like the plot was a little weak. Also the ending felt a little rushed to me, and slightly anticlimatic. Don't get me wrong.. I still ate it up, and loved all of the banter. Espceially Auntie Ethel, who is an icon & quite possibly my new favorite character.

I read about 65% of this in one siting while on a plane and was soo sad to have to put it down. From the very beginning I This wonderful little debut gothic horror novel was so unlike anything else I ever read, and it really took me by surprise. From the very beginning I was fully immersed in Roos' dark little story. I quite honestly kept asking myself "what the hell is going on?" in the very best way.
This eerie and haunting story follows Roosje, who is very much an unreliable narrator, and her spirt companion, Ruth. Roos has experienced an incredible amount of trauma in her life, and is continuously taken advantage of by those who are supposed to care for her.
The writing and imagery was just so beautiful for such a dark story. I love a book that provides and unique hybrid narration, and in this book we get both first person (past) and transcript documentation (present) that guides use through the story. It was so incredibly well-written, giving us bits and pieces of intriguing and important information each chapter that I never felt bored. I was constantly speculating and then doubting my own theories until the very end.
If you are in the book for a beautifully creepy, gothic horror story with a touch of sapphic romance I highly recommend My Darling Dreadful Thing.

From the beginning I was hooked on every word to come out of Noah Riley's mouth, and from there on out I needed to know what was going to happen. The overload of characters in the beginning was a bit overwhelming, but it got easier as the story progressed. One of my favorite things about this story was the character growth, and following along Ari as she heals and finds her self and what she deserves. Noah Riley is top tier book boyfriend material, and I will forever cherish his and Ari's love story. Noah deserves the world, and I'm not sure if other MMCs will ever compare. This man had me giggling, blushing, screaming & crying the entire time.
Don't get me wrong, there were multiple times that I wanted to chunk this book across the room but it pulled me back in every time. There were times that the dialogue felt a little cheesy, but then again all the character were in college so what do you expect? I loved how Sager gave us little hints to some somewhat obvious twists throuout the story, then just threw the ultimate curve ball one after another at you in the end.
I can honestly say that I was immersed the entire time and was so drawn in by the writing. I was making up theories in my head that changed every couple of chapters, and just when I started to feel big brain because I guessed correctly, Sager was like "SIKE!".

The romance we get is definitely on the darker side with a very morally grey mmc, and although it’s starts as a bit of a tension filled slow burn I felt like it escalated perfectly with the storyline. There was plenty of plot and spice, and the pacing was perfect for a book under 300 pages.
I give a round of applause because I truly did not see the plot twist coming what so ever, and I’m dying to know what happens in the next book!...more
