are missing a description and/or other details on their image description pages. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the images, and they will be more informative to readers.

Better source request for File:EMK eulogy of RFK.ogg

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 21:27, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre

Hello! Now, some of you might be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:
  • Recruiters: The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet this criteria. If we don't get at least 5-10 recruiters to start off with, the Recruitment Centre will not open. If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read the process and add your name to the list of recruiters. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the process section is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".
  • Co-Director: The current Director for the centre is me (Dom497). Another user that would be willing to help with some of the tasks would be helpful. Tasks include making sure recruiters are doing what they should be (teaching!), making sure all recruitments are archived correctly, updating pages as needed, answering any questions, and distributing the feedback form. If interested, please contact me (Dom497).
  • Nominators, please read this: If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of this page. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk)

New naming consensus

Like I said, it would have been nice for you to notify the WikiProjects you knew were going to be affected, seeing as you used many articles within our scope as your examples! Posting on various policy/guidelines/MOS etc. pages is all well and good but doesn't help any of us who don't 'watch' those pages. GiantSnowman 14:33, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Understandable - but surely you can see why you should have notified those WikiProjects? Obviously you cannot notify every single WikiProject, but it would have been sensible to notify any/all applicable WikiProjects if you used articles within their scope as your examples. By using them as examples, you were basically saying "these articles will be affected one way or the other." GiantSnowman 14:48, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jon Horford, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Junior (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre

Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. I'm not going to edit war over something stupid like this, but why are you so against red links for people who are clearly notable? A Tony nomination is enough to prove notability; the only reason why they don't have articles yet is because nobody has gotten around to creating them yet. Not only do the red links make it easier once the article is created, but they also remind editors that those pages have to be created. JDDJS (talk) 17:13, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Redlinks aren't going to highlight omissions any more than a lack of a link would. And at least with a redlink, it is clear that the article doesn't exist, and it doesn't lead readers on a pointless search for an article that doesn't exist. However, like I said before, I'm not going to edit war over something stupid, so you can have it your way. JDDJS (talk) 18:38, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Tony!

Hey, looks like your Amaker article is really close to passing. Congrats! I currently have an article at FAC, too, [1] but it's dangerously close to failing due to lack of support. Would you mind taking a look at it for me? Thanks, and let me know what I can do for you. Thanks. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 22:40, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Comment on reversion of "I vespri Siciliani"

Please note that the links should not (and, as I recall, did not) go to the same place. I've vastly expanded the "Vepres" article and focused it on the French version. At the same time, I created a separate "Vespri" article which is rather shorter but which is about the Italian version. Viva-Verdi (talk) 16:36, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey, agreed that we shouldn't really enumerate each guest appearance.

However since this is a new TNT series it may be worth noting the information for all viewers or interested parties - including those who were also fans of the former & quite successful 'Leverage', which also aired on the TNT network.

Also especially since it is still new any additional information on the show is always appreciated by all those with interest :)

Two questions

Hi Tony, two questions:

  1. I'm ready to take oxbow (horse) for GA, however, the informal peer reviewer I had look over the article thinks we should take it directly to FAC. I'm hesitant to do so, partly due to stability issues (by the time it's GA, time should be adequate for FA) but wonder what you think? Montanabw(talk) 21:10, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
  2. I'd like to invite you to User:Montanabw/Sandbox 4 where I am working on an article about Paynter, who doesn't have his own article yet. Want to help get it going? Thanks! Montanabw(talk) 21:10, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Nyttend (talk) 19:51, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Responded to your question. Nyttend (talk) 21:14, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
Not yet — I'm finishing a 15-minute break at work. The little Notification only showed me another user's message, so I've spent my whole break answering another question and didn't see yours until just now. I'll get to it as soon as possible; thanks. Nyttend (talk) 17:56, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Crying Girl (lithograph).gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions

We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:

Views/Day
Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
Quality
Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.

The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Drowning Girl, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Heinemann Library (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Mila Kunis

Hey Tony. I've mentioned you here, at the talk page for the Mila Kunis article. It relates to a recommendation you made last spring in that article's good article review. Your suggestion has been used no fewer than eight times over the past year to revert the removal of a mention in the lede of Kunis' past relationship with Macaulay Culkin. While I sincerely admire and appreciate your considerable work to improve the content here, I don't think time is agreeing with mentioning Culkin in the lede at Kunis' article, and I hope you might have a moment to take another look (even if your opinion hasn't changed). Thank you, again. Take care! user:j (talk) 16:51, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Hillary Rodham Clinton

Hi Tony. I'm reading through the Clinton RM and was wondering if you could clarify your comment for me. "Although my gut tells me to support, I think the historical reasons and BLP user preferences still carry."[2] Were you referring to the article subject's preference? --Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 06:48, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Lichtenstein

Wow, your work related to Roy Lichtenstein is incredible--keep up the great work! I went ahead and removed all of the articles for his individual paintings and sculptures from the "Pop art" category, which is already included for the parent categories "Paintings by Roy Lichtenstein" and "Sculptures by Roy Lichtenstein". Sorry I am not comfortable uploading images of the paintings... I hope my recent edits related to Lichtenstein were not intrusive. Just trying to pitch in when I can! --Another Believer (Talk) 15:41, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Masterpiece review

DYK nomination of Masterpiece (Roy Lichtenstein)

Hello! Your submission of Masterpiece (Roy Lichtenstein) at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Doug Coldwell (talk) 17:53, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Tony - I know you are very acquainted with DYK. Maybe I missed something. Should there be a QPQ for your nomination's entry? If not, please let me know (and why). Maybe one has already been done and I missed it. I would like to pass your nomination. You write very good articles.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 21:09, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Onyx

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me with finding a reliable source for Onyx (Every Little Time)? I can only find Discogs and Last.fm for decent biographies for him and even them are nicked from his MySpace page, none of which are reliable sources. It's incredibly annoying because he's notable; he had a #66 hit with the above song, but I can't reliably source it. Even AllMusic thinks its the name artist as Onyx. Any chance of a bit of help?--Launchballer 21:13, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

I was asking you because you were a member of WikiProject Music, but okay.--Launchballer 21:29, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Drowning Girl

Where the article states "The image is typical of Lichtenstein's depiction of comic subjects responding to a situation in a cliched manner." I don't have the source, but does it mean comic as in funny or comic as in comic book or comic art? Would it be better to change it to comic book subject or comic art subject for greater clarity of that's what the source intends? Hiding T 18:13, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

  • also, with "The waves are intended to "recall Hokusai as well as the biomorphic forms of Arp and Miro;"[48] just as the source comics were intended to." The statement that the source comics were intended to recall Hokusai, is that from a sourced interview with the creators of the original art or is that an opinion advanced by either the writer of the book or Lichtenstein? If it is opinion, we should avoid stating it as fact. Again I don;t have the source but would it be okay for you to check and amend as required? Hiding T 18:19, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
    • I thought it would be easier because I thought you wanted me to strike a lot of material from the FAC page. No other reason. I'll add these there instead, my apologies, I'm never sure of all the rules regarding all the different processes. Thanks for your gentle pointer as to the correct etiquette. Takka Takka

See Template:Did you know nominations/Takka Takka (Roy Lichtenstein). Good article, but needs a QPQ. Thanks, Aymatth2 (talk) 15:06, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

RE: In A World

Actually, the first time the article was made, it was about a YouTube channel. It was more of an advertisement instead about the Sundance film. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 17:33, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

DYK for Takka Takka (Roy Lichtenstein)

Gatoclass (talk) 16:03, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Tiger, I know it doesn't do to remove an RS but takka takka can hardly be the sound of heavy artillery! I'd suggest that in this instance the author has got her terminology confused and that there's no benefit in citing her, so I've removed the link and changed the passage. Ericoides (talk) 18:47, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. What a nonsense! Ericoides (talk) 21:14, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for answering. I'm no weapons expert, far from it, but my understanding is that the rate of fire of artillery, which our description states "operates by projection of munitions far beyond the effective range of personal weapons", would never be able to produce that repetitive "takka takka" sound. It would go, "bang ... bang ... bang". The painting itself shows a machine gun. Even a heavy machine gun is not artillery in the sense that our article describes it. Ericoides (talk) 05:12, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
No, I hadn't. But I appreciate you being accomodating re this! Ericoides (talk) 05:36, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Outstanding

The only query I have outstanding is whether the material from Beaty's book is of any value at Drowning Girl. Once you clarify that I have no other issues with the article. I've not really been involved in the FA process in a long time, I just came along based on your post at WikiProject Comics so you'd best guide me as to what to do once we resolve the Beaty thing. Hiding T 21:47, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

  • Not sure what you are asking, but Beaty's book is available on google books here. You can search inside the book for Lichtenstein. Does that help? Do you want me to add the material myself? See I'm not sure where it's best placed, whether in the main Lichtenstein article or is it worth rehashing in all the articles on his paintings sourced from comics like you do with Barsalou? The general view of Lichtenstein from the comics world is that there is agreement that he should have credited the original artists, agreement that he was violating copyright and agreement that he wasn't a great comics artist. Whether he is a good artist or not is split, although most lean towards him being a pop artist of note. Anyway, over to you. Hiding T 22:06, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
